Can Darth Sion, LoP gain force renewal from a force spirit? It say's he has Self-Reliant, which says that he cannot gain force points or use force points from others. But force renewal means you generate your own force points. So what happens?

Self-Reliant overrides Force Renewal. While Sion can receive the force renewal ability (and then be affected by something that affects characters with Force Renewal), the ability itself cannot be used because of Self-Reliant.
This is covered in the Glossary Definition for Self-Reliant.
A good rule of thumb to use for the game (and most card/board games for that matter) is that Can't trumps Can.

Ok, thanks, I'll just have to spend some more points and get reg Darth Sion, who does not have self reliant, but still has eternal hatred.
