If the attacker rolls an 11, does the damage still go through on the first attack, or does the save only apply to negating an additional attack?

If the attacker makes the save, damage goes through as normal and Kylo can be targeted just like normal.
Think of it kinda like evade or Deflect (except the attacker makes the save not the defender) with the additional caveat that a failed save by the attacker means he can't be targeted for the rest of the turn.
Great against twin attackers, and if he is the only legal target.
