Boba rolls his 20.

Luke is gone?

Right?

No saves or evades....right?

Can't do anything unless you can force Boba to reroll.....right?

Evade, Lightsaber Deflect, etc. only negate the damage of the attack, not the effects of disintegration (unless the target was huge or larger). Force Alter would work as you don't apply effects like Disintegration or Betrayal until the die roll has been finalized.

The only way to prevent a character from being disintegrated would be to have a bodyguard take it.

Also, Avoid Defeat, Essence of Life, etc. can be used, but the character will be left with the HP stated by the ability, not what they were pre-disintegration.

That's not correct.

You can use alter to force a reroll of a crit, you can also have a BG take it, it's right in the glossary definition of Disintegration.

Evade and deflect/defense only negate the damage of a crit. Disintegration is not damage. You can deflect the damage and still be defeated. In the case of a huge, disintegration is turned into +40 dmg, (so 80 in most cases, 60 vs droid). If it's a huge, you can evade/deflect it.

Reflect also partially works, in that you can still send damage back, even though you will still be defeated.

Also, molecular shielding sends the damage back, even though you are still defeated.

And finally, Bombag Gungan can help Boba disintegrate himself or his own pieces.

Yes, the Bodyguard can be defeated instead of the original target. This is covered in the glossary defination of Disentegration.
