Oh, my Rebel Droid team went 2-0 against your friends squad on the trainstation map, and went 1-0 against a Gen Grievous Crab Droid army.

Nice. it looks like a pretty powerful squad. If only i played rebel, the main reason i dont play rebel and republic is that most people play those factions, i know they are powerful factions and all but i figure the more people we have playing the other smaller factions the more figures will come out for those making them more competitive. I am really hoping that WOTC will release a set that has more figures for the smaller factions. I would love to see all the factions become competitive but as of now most of the smaller ones only have fun squads.Crying

Smiley,

I completely agree, I try to play Vong as much as I can, it usually gives people fits but its so hard to take a meta game from anyone with them. I keep a lot of Rebels to play against the other power squads in the area, and to help my friends play test.

Maybe a Elite Rebel COmmando/ Maidene Squad. Control his movement (Sorta) With override, and you have Ion gun and Cunning +20 for a whopping 50 damage per hit. Add in a Rebel Strike leader and your commandos are super stealthed! Just an idea.

Edit: Whoops i didnt realize you didnt play rebels. It usualy helps to read the whole thread.

Have you looked at the Jawa Scavenger with a Czerka Scientist. The Cunning is a counter to the slow activations. Twin attack from the Czerka lets the little guys pump out 50 (probably only hit on one attack) or a 100 damage (with really lucky rolls) against unactivated droids and Accurate lets you pick the target. You only need one hit (roll 17 against one in cover with GG's CE) to take out an unactivated Lancer - be sure to yell "Utinni!" when you do. lol Sure they are fragile, but use up two or three against his big gun droids and remove the threat of strafe before he gets across the board. Czerka + 3 Jawa Scavengers is 52 points, so you have room for whatever kind of squad you like to add them to. Throw in a TBSV to give them Mobile if you are worried about their fragile state. A couple of cheap fodder pieces to absorb his attacks as already noted and you can keep the rest of your squad safe. Reinforcements from Lobot work very well for this tactic since they don't score your opponent any points. The Whipid Tracker is also nice in this type of squad to benefit from the slow activations and the Czerka with a slightly higher attack rating.

These guys don't stand up to anything else, but might encourage your friend to stop bringing so many droids.

that particular squad is a 200 point squad. I dont know if i have listed all the units correctly, or if it adds up correctly. I just gave a rough estimate of what i knew for sure was in it.

This might not be the best squad to take on the droids, but i think it would do really well.

I would spend the first few rounds building up force points on vader and palpy while getting my Kel dors and Geno into position. then i thrawn swap the geno with vader and hit with either a sith grip or LS throw 5 (depending on weather he is grouped close or not) with LS throw 5 i have the potential of doing 60 damage to each enemy i hit with a +19 att. Then next round i take first turn and swap vader out again. Rinse and repeat.

--Vader Hits Hard--
50 Darth Vader, Unleashed
33 Emperor Palpatine on Throne
32 Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo)
21 GenoHaradan Assassin
15 Lobot, Computer Liaison Officer
26 Kel Dor Bounty Hunter x2
11 Admiral Ozzel
8 Mas Amedda
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

Preferred Reserves:
(Admiral Ozzel) 9 Reborn
(Admiral Ozzel) 10 Imperial Dignitary x2
(Lobot, CLO) 24 Rodian Black Sun Vigo
(Lobot, CLO) 6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

(199pts. 10 activations)
