I've been messing around with some faction pure republic squads. I am trying a different approach than I normally do, which is several lower cost pieces to fill out the squad rather than a few large pieces finished off with ugnaughts and mouse droids.

Let me know what you think of these 2 somewhat similar squads. Which one do you think is more viable?

I like squad two better because I don't like to rely on Chancellor Palpatine Reserves, The JEdi Weapon masters are pretty awesome with Yoda as well and I like the beefy Star Corps troops however I would swap the Arc Troopers for Sev becaue of stealth. Also drop the Clone Trooper gunner for some Uggie demos.

If it's faction pure, you can't have the Uggie demos. I do think the second squad is stronger, though I might switch in Sevs (or even a Scorch and Sev) for the Arc Trooper Snipers.

I like the suggestions of sev and scorch. I might have to try and get a hold of a couple of them. In particular I like scorch for satchel charge, even though R2 does provide override.

Maybe I'll try some Faction pure stuff in some other factions to see what they can do. I guess thats a good way to get a handle on the strengths/weaknesses of each faction

I like the second squad more. And As much as I like the ARC snipers the commandos are far mroe versitle, and with a minimum amount of door control, a mix of Scorch and the ARC's might be in order. A mix of Scortch and an ARC might be as effective, Sniper is an underrated ability.
