This came up last night as I was facing GOWK...

How is the poison effect dealt with by Soresu? When the attack hits, he makes the Soresu saves... and gets it, does he still have to save the poison? Soresu negates the damage, not the fact that the attack hits i believe.

Then again... if he misses the poison save, can he make a Soresu save cause he's taking damage?

Please help me sort this out.

Peace

The bonus damage from Poisoned Blade, Poison, and Virulent Poison are added on to the damage from the attack. So if the Soresu Mastery save was success, they take no damage period.

Thx for the quick reply Sithborg.

After reading the resolving effects FAQ (again) I believe the poison save has to be made before the Soresu Mastery since it happens when the attack hits and Soresu when he takes damage.

Am I right on this one?

No, both effects happen when hit and thus may be resolved in either order.

Does this mean the target has control and chooses to make the attacker poison first so he can sorensu it or is the attacker allowed to choose to make the defender sorensu first. Then poison and force another roll?

The defender chooses. It doesn't really matter which is resolved first, since even if Soresu is resolved first, they take no damage from the attack, period. Poison adds damage to the attack.
