Just to be on the safe side...

Hypothetically speaking, let's say I have a Gungan Shieldbearer adjacent to a Jedi Weapon Master. A non-adjacent enemy character targets the Jedi Weapon Master with an attack and manages to hit.

From what I understand, both Lightsaber Deflect and Energy Shield become possible options to respond with. I believe I can choose to activate Energy Shield first and still be able to use Lightsaber Deflect.

QUESTION: Do I have to declare whether or not I am using both abilities or may I wait until after the results of the Energy Shield before declaring activation of Lightsaber Deflect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You may wait until after the results of Energy Shield have been resolved.

Thank you. I had a couple follow-up questions just in case the ruling went the other way, but this works out nicely.

I also have a similar question. If you have a gungan shieldbearer adjacent to an x-1 viper droid, would a non-adjacent enemy have to get through both energy shield and molecular shielding in order to deal the damage?

Yes, they are different abilities, so both would take effect.

Just remember, the damage can only be "reflected" once. If the first ability is successful, it reduces the damage from the attack to 0, making the second ability pointless.
