2020/20 Star Wars Miniatures Strategy Guide

A strategy guide leading up to GenCon 2020 and introducing Vset 20: Always Two There Are / Rise of Skywalker.

Faction: Mandalorian

Top Pieces to Know:

Mandalore the Vindicated (Disruptive, boost to crits)
Mandalorian Scout (Cloaked mid-cost shooter)
Jango Fett, Mandalore (Furious Accurate, High Defense, Defensive Stance to squad)
Kelborn (Movement breaker)
Death Watch Saboteur (Traps and door control)
Mandalorian Tactician (Activate 3 at a time)
Mandalorian Captain (Twin to squad)

Subfactions:
Death Watch
Neo-Crusader

Some squads:
Movin Mandos (GenCon winner, 2014)
Three Kings (GenCon top 4, 2017)
Neo-Crusader Cannons ("Mando Machine Guns")
Death Watch

ATTA/RoS newcomers:
The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) and The Child becomes the highest cost Mandalorian Vset piece (other than epics), and going forward will likely be a major beatstick option for both Mandalorian and all-Fringe squads.

Death Watch Strike Leader adds a lot to a Death Watch squad, making an all Death Watch squad viable for the first time. Death Watch Armorer is a nice addition to that.

Mandalorian Guardsman is cheap fodder with a new take on combining fire.

I put together a quick strategy guide for Mandos, New Republic, and Rebels. Mostly a guide for newer players - experienced players should recognize pretty much all of the pieces I mention. This was more work than I expected. I thought I'd do all the factions but not sure I'll get around to it, so if anyone wants to jump in and write one up for other factions, feel free. I plan to go back and add links to the squads I mention but obviously haven't done that yet. If I missed anything, add your input below.

That’s awesome of you Flying, I could probably attempt a Separatist one if I get some time though they are not as competitive these days.

Thanks for doing that. We still need Vong, Republic, and Fringe. I think Fringe should be in two parts: one for key Fringe tech and pieces that travel well to other factions. One for Fringe subfactions.
