I can also sit this one out if necessary/makes things easier, I might need to go over and help my parents with something anyway.

Just sent my squad to spry, so feel free to send me your squads now. Don't forget to choose a map.
And if spry ends up being the person who takes slot #8 then too bad for me.

5 squads are registered. Waiting for three more.
There's still room for one more player. And if you don't want to take the time to build a squad, gandalf (thanks, gandalf!) is building one and you can just take his. (Or build your own if you prefer.)
8:30 Eastern time tonight. Two rounds tonight. Then the finals can be completed tonight if both players have time, or arranged to be played later.

It's looking like an 8th player is unlikely. (But still available if anyone reading along wants to join in.)
This being a bit more casual tournament, I'm going to randomly choose the first-round bye only from those players who volunteer for it. On one hand - if you have the bye you are one step closer to being the winning player. On the other hand, you signed up to play games, and playing a solo game probably isn't what you had in mind.
I'll assign it to myself if no one volunteers. If anyone does volunteer, I'll randomly choose among those who do. To volunteer, just reply here or email me saying that you don't mind (or even that you want) the bye.
(Dropping out would not be helpful. We're at 7 players, and while 6 players would be an even number, for the structure of this tournament it could be even more awkward.)

I don't mind a Bye if necessary. I can also play a solo game.

TJ, I don't know if you saw. I actually won. There was a shot with my demo to kill the Ordnance Specialist.

Finals will be FlyingArrow (using Darth O's "C63 AMG") vs Mando (using urbanjedi's "squad with no antares draco"). We should get this game in on Sunday.

In the finals, Mando beats FlyingArrow urbanjedi's "no antares draco" beats Darth O's "C63 AMG" Congrats to Mando as the winning player! Congrats to urbanjedi as the winning squadbuilder! Officially, I made Round 3 optional (other than the finals) so that I could advertise this as a one-evening event. But hopefully the other three Round 3 games will be played. If so, we'll have full standings instead just the winners.

what an amazing tournament! great games and very tense matches! TJ played Darth O's squad very well and i had to play against it without making many mistakes. I got a lucky crit against a 70hp Darth Maul with Roan Fel who was using Dark Temptation, which was the huge turning point in the game. I got a shot earlier at taking out the Mando Captain as well and Roan Fel negated Mauls CE for a round with his True Emperor ability. Dark Armor saves and evades really saved me in this game against the massive amounts of attacks and damage from the Death Watch Mercs. I did use the mercenary ability against them however, forcing many of them to try hitting my guys in cover since they couldn't move to a better spot to hit thanks to the downside of Mercenary. Needed all the help i could get in this game to make it close! in the end, i had 4 guys with 20hp or less and my Armorer was still alive at 10hp. I had a Imperial knight that just couldn't bet hit and I called him MC Hammer cause he was doing the hammer time dance singing "can't touch this" while he evaded and made armor saves left and right. Very close game that was down the the wire! when time was called, i was a dead Imperial Knight away from losing, so all the armor saves and evade saves that i had to make at the last round really were nerve wracking! i made a key lightsaber block vs Pre Vizla and also Dryden Vos which sealed the game for me. if either of those block had failed, i'd have lost the game. Good game by TJ! He is a top notch player and a great person to talk with! thanks for organizing the tournament TJ!

I don't think I played Darth O's squad well at all. I went in thinking that I wanted the melee up front and the squishy shooters in the back. The Knights weren't strong enough to one-shot any of the big commanders, so then I'd be able to light up his guys with the swarm from behind. But now I think it should have been the opposite. Put the swarm up front and then clean up with the melee commanders. I did manage to keep Pre alive, so they still had their SD20 even at the end. But if all the swarm was in front, they would have done what damage they could and then it would have been my commanders versus weakened Knights. I lost the Captain, which shouldn't have happened. I should have kept him further back. Although - even with my mistakes I think I would have won if they game had ended earlier or later. I was ahead after every round except the last round. And I had a good chance at winning as long as Pre could kill the Armorer. Once the Armorer died, the Mercs SD20 would auto-kill all the 10 and 20hp Knights running around. So good job with that squad, Darth O. Sorry I got outplayed with it. Mando did a great job.
I really like this format and I might try to make this a monthly event.

You have failed me for the last time, Arrow. But I'll let you off for organising such a fun tournament!
