( Major spoiler alerts- stop reading if you haven't watched them yet ) I watched episodes 1, 2 and 3 last night. Boring and stupid. Obi-Wan, 10 years after Episode 3, is a pathetic Jedi, who seems old and frail. Really unbelievable. He prefers using a blaster over his lightsaber? Vader easily defeats him in a lightsaber battle, and he can't counter the Force grip and choke that Vader put on him??? It makes Episode 4's lightsaber battle look good, and also makes Vader's statement regarding "I was just the learner, now I am the master", not make any sense. This series is a pathetic joke. It's making the Han Solo movie look really good. This is the worst Star Wars cannon show/series/movie, that I have ever seen 👎👎 PS Princess Leia is supposed to be 10 yrs old. Se looks, sounds, and acts like she's 5-6 yrs old. Really terrible casting

EDIT; There's the 2018?IIRC, Radio Plays with Hayden, Ewan etc, which go well with the radio-plays for Episode IV A New Hope, "Splinter Of The Minds Eye", and Episode V. or, the audiobooks of the New Jedi Order Series etc...
I prefer the Jude Law "Jedi Apprentice" and "The Last Of The Jedi" series of books and comics. They had more intriguing characters than the relative-to-Kobayashimaru, "Non-Canonical" SW:Rebels and SW:3D Clone Wars. (I Prefer Blazbaros and SpiderMatt clone wars stuff etc and that Genndy Tartakovsky 2D Cartoon rather than 3D)
Its the same thing for folks who liked Mara Jade, Siri Tachi, Adi Gallia, Tahl, Winter, Jaina-Solo, Shya-Skywalker, Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Darth Krayt/ASharadHett etc. The NJO Books were great movie-verse stuff they could have explored, a lot of folks prefer those to the Dismay-Verse NuWarsTrek continuities.

I think that the Leia actor is excellent, but she seemed more like 5 or 6 instead of the 10 she is supposed to be. But then I looked her up. The actor turned 10 yesterday. So she was probably 9 1/2 when filming. Just looks extra young for her age.

Also, I don't like the casting on the Seventh Sister. She doesn't scare me at all. I don't think she is a very good actress at all. She all too easily killed the "lead" inquisitor ( who by the way, seemed like a pretty cool character early on, only to be eliminated right away ). At least show us a cool lightsaber battle, between the 2 of them. Big time opportunity missed. At least Mandalorian and Boba Fett had incredible battles and fight scenes in every episode. Thank you Jon Favreau. Can we get some cool Tatooine scenes with young Luke Skywalker, for Pete's sake????? He was, after all, one of the most important characters ever in the Star Wars universe. Hell, I'd even be ok with Obi-Wan fighting some Tatooine beast, that was threatening to kill Luke or something. And please have him use his lightsaber, not a blaster!! A story about Leia on Alderaan, and then being kidnapped, is boring me to tears. So, Obi-Wan, let's some random Jedi get killed on Tatooine, because he's so worried about Luke's safety, then he ends up leaving the planet,, leaving Luke unprotected??????? I just don't buy this horseshit! My Favorite part of the first 3 episodes is seeing Obi-Wan look at 10 year old Luke through binoculars, as Luke is pretending to be piloting a spacecraft of sorts.
Just so disappointing. Help us Jon Favreau. Your our only hope............

like I said... 1) Mcgregor and Christiansen already did an audio-book / radio play variant set between Episode 3 and 4... 2) "Blink" and you miss some of it, just skip to the time signatures and intersplice elements from Blazboros or SpiderMatt, Rogue One etc...
Thats the thing, they don't tell the main actors, what they are filming in Second Unit, and, so they don't see the all-virtual-set elements because the actors in first unit don't apparently have veto over the editing room or, any degree of producer/creative control etc.
I also think that McGregor is also saying "Look, because of how serious things are in the Real World, we can't really tell a "Grim-Dark" story between Episode 3 and 4 right now, but, because we're getting older, it was felt "Franchise Fatigue" and, "its now or never", so, they are trying to tell the story but be respectful of the contemporary events
that's the "Too Many Cooks" factors going on.

Fun Fact - Compare the Episode 1 (now Episode 4 A New Hope) Radio Play with Thurl Ravenscroft as Darth Vader etc... if you were a DiscularJockey, you could remix the McGregor-Christiansen play to elements from those Episode 4 and the between Episode 4 and 5 radio play elements. If "War of the Worlds the PowerBallad Music Experience" style thing were your jam, you could imagine a variant based on Star Wars: Purge, and "Rise of the Empire' "Vader vs Fett" etc... and just... make the radioplay happen from existing elements.

Whoa, Kenobi got a little grim dark I mean, I have read a lot of the books especially "Last of the Jedi" / "Rise of the Empire" but, I never saw that grimdark coming.

Quote: the part with the snowspeeders just hovering there really made me kinda think... have these people watched episode 5?! Haha, classic, I am unsure if snowspeeders can just 'hover' like a helicopter or really, if they only do that if they are landing mode, but I get what you mean, Mando. i think they're an anti-grav "ionocraft" kinda speeder, so, I think they can kinda hover in ideal conditions. There are other, more prominent like 28minutes of the episode issues which aren't in the Jude Watson Book Series "Jedi Apprentice" or "Last Of The Jedi" etc, or "Rise Of The Empire", which are more of an issue though, if you just use the time-skip method, you can re-edit it by playing 4 or so minutes here and there, which, doesn't help with their viewership ratings where they have put the 'good bits' hehe. essentially anything referencing The Mandalorian, SW:Rebels etc, is truncated in favor of the ~2018 Radio Play which had Hayden Christiansen and Ewan McGregor in it anyways, like the SW:Episode 4 A New Hope Radio Play etc.

They should just stop telling stories featuring established characters. Too much head cannon to fight. Just tell stories about other people, other places, other genres, bu set in the Star Wars universe. I think that's part of Rogue One worked so well.

Well said, CrazyBirdMan. new characters is awesome stuff. Just, reboot the NJO series, delete the Vuuzhan Vong, but retain Darth Krayt. Rogue One was essentially, "Jedi Knight / Dark Forces", but, with Capn' Andar and Gynie-Also as Jan-Ors, same diff really as Dark Forces (which the game already had FMV cutscenes hehe)

You can't do NJO without Vong. I'm so tired of people saying Rogue One was good. Yes the last third on Scarif is good. Yes "tHe HaLLwaY ScEnE". The first 2/3rds are an absolute mess and all the characters not named Krennic are flat, boring and suck.

Just saw the last of this season of "Obi Wan" / "Rise Of The Empire". I'm enjoying that, and definitely think they have another ~10-20 years gaps. Episode 3 finishes 20 years before Episode 4, so, that's my pet peeve is, they are rushing a lot, they jump around in time a lot in this season, you are gish-galloping over 10 years or so...
A LOT of stuff can happen in that 20 year span. I'd take that After SW:V "The Splinter of the Minds Eye" and set it sorta 8 years BEFORE SW:IV etc, change a few of those elements around because, we are deleting the Vong from ever having had existed muahahaha
Still recommending you check out that 2018 radio play version more than this show, as the voice acting in that radio play was quite awesome and it goes well with the radio-dramatization radio play of SW:IV.
still, fun stuff for seeing some elements which are clearly from Obi Wan: Last of the Jedi and Jedi Apprentice, it was a fun season overall.
Massively disappointed about "Tachi Station" not being described in depth as being "Siri Tachi" as in, Obi'wans Friend from The Jedi Apprentice series etc. (Who had her own spinoff adventure comics etc).
Darth Vader doesn't look quite right either, great that its actually Haden in some of the scenes, but, for some of the sequences, it's not quite right. That works though as, in the books etc, it said Darth Vader iterated suits so, this suit is closer to that shorter suit. but there again, my build using a rubber-mask to make the metal for a DEVTAC Darth Helmet, and putting that on a PETMAN mk 9 Series, it doesn't quite look right either. But, the voice is getting reasonably close to those bass-tones of JEJones.
I thought that they might do the "Iron Man" style arc, where Darth Vader had robo-darths so he appeared to be in 10 places at once, (Until after the Dark Trooper stuff failed, and they figured out how Darth was telepresencing the facsimiles)
