If a character with this ability is attacking a character with Soresu Style Mastery for instance..and they hit, the SSM is still rolled because they are trying to negate the damage and not the attack right?
SSM, Soresu, or whatever is trying to stop the damage, not the attack which leads to the damage yes?

The card text can lead you to think that, but the glossary further explains that damage from the character's attacks cannot be prevented or redirected when Overwhelming Force is used. So no, Soresu Style Mastery will have no effect.
