If a character is able to be in a squad with a specific person (say an Imperial character that may be in a squad with player X in rebels), can that imperial character benefit from Rebel abilities or CE as would any other Rebel character with Rebel on their card?

Affinity changes the faction. So if it's through an affinity, yes. If a CE, no.

A good example of this is Mandalore the lesser that I know you are familiar with. He has affinity for Sith himself so can be in a Sith squad and benefit from Sith CEs and abilities etc. He also has a CE which allows mandolorian characters to be in his squad regardless of faction. So he could bring man dolor I an scouts for example into a Sith squad, but they wouldn't get any boosts/ CEs for allied Sith characters.

Well, wondering because the one I am looking does have affinity for a named character who is in another faction. I guess then, he does become a member of their team. Thanks, don't know why I slip on that
