Using Old Republic Conscription could you put a non fringe/OR piece in the same squad?

Nope! Conscription abilities give the Old Republic faction to non-OR characters that ended up in your squad via normal means.

Affinity - Characters with Affinity naturally change to be the same faction as the squad, so nothing changes here.

Commander Effects/non-Affinity abilities that allow a character to be in your squad “Regardless of faction” let you ignore faction for the purpose of putting the specified character in your squad, but they retain their original faction. If you had any such characters in a squad with Lord Hoth, he gives them the Old Republic faction.
