Good morning!

As of this weekend, early event submission for Gen Con 2025 has closed. Our events team (meaning urbanjedi) submitted our events just in time, and now we want to give you a preview of some of the things we have planned. In addition to traditional competitive events, including the Champs, the Sealed, and the Team Tourney, we have updated some events from previous years and come up with some all-new ideas. We will also run podracing all weekend (on 5 different tracks!). New this year: We will be tallying the finishes of each pod to determine which 14 will advance to the Boonta Eve Classic on Sunday.
Our friends will also be running non-competitive events, including IA Hunger Games, Jedi Purge, and Battle of Scarif.
Finally, please note that for the competitive events, unless otherwise noted in the event description in the catalog, the maplist will be the updated maplist from Caedus. The first half of V-set 27 will be releasing shortly, and those pieces will also be legal for any V-set events.

So without further ado, here are the competitive events we are planning for Gen Con 2025!

Thursday, July 31:
Escalation Tournament: bring 4 squads designed to build upon each other, with point totals ranging from 75 to 300 points.
Team Tournament (Civil War): Each team has a light-side and a dark-side squad. Players will compete against the player on the other team who has the SAME type of squad.

Friday, August 1:
200-point Non-Unique Tournament: 20 activation limit. Build a squad made entirely of non-Unique characters.
150-point WOTC-only Team Tournament: Each team will build 150-point squads, with one Light-side and one Dark-side. Traditional Light vs Dark rules. WOTC-only maplist.

Saturday, August 2:
Champs
“2x5” Tournament: Build a 200point squad comprised of 2 activations from each of 5 different factions (Light side or Dark side).

Sunday, August 3:
V-set 27 sealed: Each player will receive one booster from each of the parts of V-set 27 from which to build a squad. No faction or unique restrictions. More details to come.

It's a physical event in Indianapolis, Indiana (July 31-August 3).

VassalCon is a spinoff of GenCon (it came about during the pandemic when all in-person events were cancelled), and is a very similar format in terms of several events throughout the day. It's basically GenCon again, and it all happens over Vassal and Discord. The dates for VassalCon have not yet been set, but will likely be late August or early September.
