Welcome everyone to round 1 of the Spring of 2025 tournament of Galactic Escalation! Lots of great players and fun matchups ahead! Can someone explain how UrbanJedi's squad works? Has he chosen a faction or can he go whatever way he wants, based on everyone else's squads?

i'm pretty sure he has to continue with fringe because (for example) to be a rebel squad you must have rebel characters, and since he has no faction-specific characters his squad it will only escalate to be a fringe squad.

It'd be as simple as assigning each of you to one of the divisions and having you play in the spots where someone had a Bye week which are the Cross division matchups that are scheduled each week. Honestly tho...this is the first I have heard you both had wanted to join....i had signups open for 3 weeks and no word form either of you had been indicated that you were even thinking of joining. But please feel free to join if you want to! I realize that you might have an advantage in knowing what others are playing initially, so I'd just have to trust you knew what you were planning on playing before today's squads and schedule got revealed.

If had heard it tho I would have held off on posting the divisions and round 1 matches. It can still work out for them to join tho. Easy to add them both in at this point if they still want to join

I got Randy's squad and waiting for Bryan's squad. I got them both added to the divisions and I will eliminate the cross division matchups and just have all games before playoffs be between those in each division and we'll cut to a top 3 going forward to playoffs

gandalf defeats NoffyD 105-38 on Theed Palace
Anthony and I had already tested our four escalation squads up against each other so this was a bit of a "rematch".
I won map, he deferred and I set up on the right. The Yammosk stole Bandon's +10.
Round 1 we both advanced but neither side reached gambit.
Round 2 after a couple of activations I opened a door with Bandon and ran in with Revan to hit Tsavong (60 left). The YV Consul hit Revan for 40. I got gambit. 5-0
Round 3, I won init with MT and Revan finished off Tsavong with a crit, hit the Consul for 40 and then retreated (Consul missed AoO) and swapped for the Recruit. Khalee and the Consul took revenge by killing Bandon. The Ordnance Specialist and Recruit based the Consul and took him out with a Sith Pawn reroll Self-Destruct. Mezhan moved into gambit. 56-38
Round 4, I won init and Revan killed Mezhan. Khalee put some damage on Revan. 83-38
Round 5 I won init and Revan took out Khalee for the win.

Round 1 I moved into gambit and locked the far left door into the center room 5-0 Spry
Round 2 More movement went to set up for stuff and he wisely avoided it. 10-0 Spry
Round 3 Maul moved up and I was able to put 60 on him with a crit. 15-0 Spry
Round 4 I win init and send Maul back to the start. He kills Juno 49-11 Spry
Round 5 Maul moves into gambit and Vader's Apprentice puts 80 on him. 54-16 Spry
Round 6 He wins init and Maul puts 80 on VA. VA kills Maul with a lightning. Luke kills the Sniper with Cunning, R2 kills the battle droid. Spry 107-21
The override factor worked against him very badly as I was able to control the center area and pop out and attack as I wanted to. VA made some strong rolls too vs Maul. It was a good game and closer than the score indicates. Always a pleasure to play Trevor. Good luck the rest of the way!

Randy 100 (3) over UrbanShmi 20 (0) on Korriban.
I was inside on the lower right. Shmi was straight out the front door. At the top of round 2, her uggie blew up the door. I was able to Totem Magic him and even up the activations. I sat down at the bottom of the map to form a perimeter. Maul came charging down to meet Asajj and Mamma T allowed him to begin his assault.
Out of ... I would guess about 22 attacks, Darth Maul landed a total of 60 damage I think. My parry saves were on fire. Darth Maul's attack rolls were not. (Rolled a 1 at least 3 times in a row.) The Shaman was able to remove 60 damage off Asajj in a single round. The Death Watch Saboteur made one attack roll... which turned out to be a 1.
Once Maul had succumbed to his injuries, I was able to surround Mama T in gambit, and show her the true nature of the Force.
