--Betrayal on Bespin-- 31 Chewbacca with C-3PO 28 Luke Skywalker of Dagobah 20 Princess Leia 18 Lando Calrissian, Dashing Scoundrel 15 Lobot, Computer Liaison Officer 14 General Rieekan 9 R2-D2 with Extended Sensor 15 Bespin Guard x3
Preferred Reserves: (Lobot, CLO) 30 Bespin Guard x6
(150pts. 10 activations)
This is a theme/scenario squad that I use to teach new players the game. It teaches players about special abilities using characters like Chewbacca with C-3PO, as well as some Commander Effects with Princess Leia and General Rieekan. Force Powers are also included with Luke Skywalker of Dagobah. This is NOT intended to be competitive at any level, simply a tool for learning. Let me know what you think!

Sorry but you'll need to dump Rieekan if you want to make me believe that is a theme squad. Replace him with Spirit Obi-Wan and/or a number of Ugnaughts. My other thought would be to replace him the original Lobot who could then bring in a bunch more Bespin Guards or he could introduce other help. I guess a final thematic option would be to use Han Solo in Carbonite holding Han Smuggler which could be the most thematic way to build the squad.

I like the suggestion to use Popsicle Han & Smuggler, but I don't think Spirit Obi-Wan belongs in this particular squad. In "Empire" Obi-Wan tells Luke if he chooses to face Vader he will do it alone, that he (Obi-Wan) cannot interfere. As for Rieekan, he's in the squad for teaching about CEs. I know he wasn't on Bespin, but perhaps his knowledge could have helped the other Rebels out that were there. He fits the time frame. Thanks for your comment!

For teaching games, it's best to go with something simple. Preferably something utilizing a mix of melee and non melee and a mix of grunts and bigger units. At least one force user with simple powers that see regular use is helpful. A lower point level would be good as well.
For example, I'd probably use something like:
Luke Skywalker, Jedi Rebel Captain Elite Hoth Trooper x2 R2-D2 R4 Astromech Rebel Trooper x2
And I'd face it off against something like:
Darth Vader Stormtrooper Officer Heavy Stormtrooper Stormtrooper x4 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

and its never easy to make a squad for beginners either. some players play to achieve different squad builds, I.E, Fire power, Super Stealth and super beatsticks. thats a great build for teaching someone almost every aspect of the game.
