At the end of its turn, this character can choose 1 adjacent Small or Medium ally who does not have Melee Attack. That ally gains Extra Attack until the end of this character's next turn, or until this character is no longer adjacent.

Glossary Text:

At the end of its turn, this character can choose one adjacent Small or Medium ally that does not have Melee Attack. That ally gains Extra Attack until the end of this character’s next turn. That ally loses this ability as soon as this character is no longer adjacent (which includes being defeated).

So if I'm parsing this entry correctly, Rex, Cad or any other GMA shooter could make all their attacks and then move away from the Gonk?

when they shoot they have to be adj to the gonk. when they move away they lose the Extra atk. So the best way to use the gowk is to tow him with r2 so he is in the battle. Use his SA to give rex or cade a extra keeping the gonk not in los but when rex wants to shoot he is still adj but can have los. The only time I have ever used a gonk with rex was in a Kazdan squad when I had R2 to set it up.

Thanks for the tips - R2 would definitely be a big help, as the Gonk is so slow.

As far as my question though, a shooter has to be adjacent to the Gonk to gain the extra attack, but if they have GMA, and make all their shots adjacent to the Gonk, they should be able to take their move afterwards. They have already used the ability, so the only downside is you have to set it up again the next round (if you want).

Is that correct? The wording seems to allow that, and I couldn't find anything in the FAQ or rules saying otherwise...

wow Swine, thats quite the nasty combo you have managed to figure out.

GMA-
This character can move both before and after attacking (or using an ability that replaces attacks). The character can make multiple attacks (if any) even though it is moving on its turn. It must stop and make all its attacks before resuming movement, and the space it stops in must be a legal position for ending movement, even if the character continues to move this turn. Its total movement cannot be more than its speed. It is subject to attacks of opportunity as normal. This total distance can be increased by commander effects, Force powers, and so on.

my question is this: can i move the full 6 squares and make my attacks with the adjacent GONK? the glossary say i have to make all attacks before RESUMING movement, or is the resuming movement optional? i get confused by the Glossary definitions often.

You can't run up to a gonk and use it's Power Coupling as Power Coupling is only granted at the end of a Gonk's turn.

You can move your Speed and still make all your attacks with Greater Mobile Attack. While it doesn't work with the Gonk and Power Coupling, you can end your movement within range of a CE/SA that grants more attacks and benefit from it.

I thought the original ruling (circa Legacy of the Force, whence came GMA) was that a Gonk could use Power Coupling, and as long as the GMA figure stayed adjacent to the Gonk, it benefited from Power Coupling (extra attack).

Yes, that works. What's being referred to as not working is running up to a gonk and immediately benefiting from power coupling.
