Just as an opening I don't and will never play rebel squads; I don't like Rebel squads, I find them way to powerful. I read the play reports from the Bloomilk Championship and look at the winners from other championships and am angry that the top squads are most often rebel squads . I have nothing against the people who like rebels and use them, but there must be squads from other factions that can be just as competitive as rebel squads i just cant figure any out. Okay enough ranting and raving . I would like some competitive squad foundation ideas for other factions in the 150 point range. If you could help me out please leave a reply or BM me.

This has some Rebel squads in it, but also has other factions. Its a thread I read to sort of learn the basics on what is good and how to create decent squads. Regionals Meta Tier1-RevRevGar

well, you sound like the kind of guy who doesn't play cheap squads, so i guess Grandmaster luke is out. (i refuse to play him in a tourny) i would say NR, maybe republic too, or an imperial squad with mitth'raw' nurado. with NR, you can get eved/mobile, and lots of cool Force. either kyle's and kol skywalker are great melee pieces, and you can throw in great shooters. republic will always have R2 astromech, (who is problably the most played republic peice ever) and jar jar (if you're willing to play him [he's another caracter i won't play]) and now they have qui-gon trainer and dark lady. imperials can be really good with thrawn. with the new set coming out, republic and seps have an ENORMUS boost, so one of those factions might be something to look into. and old republic can do stuff too now, but maybe not in 150.

Thanks for the input.
@RevRevGar: I read through that topic and got some good ideas but i think alot of them are still decent squads but were based around a different meta then the one we have now. Most people in that thread were planning on seeing GOWK a bunch and because he was banned in DCI the meta has changed.
@Topher_Champion_Of_The_Force: I will have to look into NR some. I have never used them but one of the biggest flaws i have seen in alot of the NR squads is that they are melee and force heavy squads. It makes it so you dont have to worry about facing evade squads as much but you have to get you pieces up close before you can really do a good amount of damage.
@both: I am not saying that your ideas are not good. I would just like to get a discussion going on the new meta and rebels being way to powerful. I was thinking a direct damage squad or something along those lines. Maybe working in captain Tarpals and General Kenobi.

Honestly, most of the thought has drifted away from that. With a new set next week (maybe in 2, who knows). Start up again in a few weeks, as any discussion about the current meta will be void shortly.

Well then i think i will look into the suggestions i have gotten and see if i can come up with anything good. After GaW comes out i will bump this thread back up to the top and we can get the discussion going.

Okay, since GaW has come out and people have had a decent amount of time to use the new pieces in the set (and since people are talking about rating criteria) I figured I would bump this thread back up to the top and maybe we could get a discussion going on what the new meta is, what is competitive, and how to put rebel squads in their place/building competitive squads using the less common factions (Mando, OR, NR, Sith, Vong)
Ready.....GO!
