So, I have a query. I shot JarJar with my Snowspeeder, JarJar made the save and made me target another one of my characters. BUT, the guy he swapped the target to had stealth... does that mean I can't shoot him or doesn't matter?

Bombad Gungan gets around normal targetting restrictions. It does not get around whether the new target can be attacked (Execute Order 66 and Diplomat) or whether the character is affected or not (ie something that only affects Living character can be redirected to a Droid, just nothing happens).

Bombad does not target, so the answer is yes. You can Bombad a character you would not normally be able to attack, such as a Stealth unit, or a Diplomat unit.

It gets around TARGETTING restrictions, not attacking restrictions. While you would be able to redirect Grenades to a character with Diplomat in effect, you would still not be able to attack if the attack was redirected to that same character.

kezzamachine wrote:Okay... clarification please? Bombad changes who the target is and lets you get around targeting restrictions. But with Diplomat you cannot target or attack them as long as it's in effect. So, Jarjar can redirect the attack at the Diplomat, but the attack cannot be completed as long as the SA diplomat is in effect. But grenades don't require an actual attack, but they still target. So if Jarjar is targeted with grenades, he can redirect it to a diplomat and the diplomat can be blown up. As far as I understand. Does any of that help? Bombad is Bombad tough to understand sometimes.

Im really lost. From my understanding if you make your Bombad save you can make them target the noble or anyone within 6 since Bombad atk part is non-targetable.I understand the Bombad save is targeted but not the attack part. I know about droids/thud or lighing/vong. Q: Does Bombad Gungan allow you to attack a character you can't normally attack, like a character 6 squares away with a melee attack, or a Diplomat when you can see an enemy non-Diplomat? A: Yes. Q: Could Bombad Gungan be used to force a character to attack a character with a special ability that makes it an illegal target, like a Cloaked character from a non-adjacent square, or an Order 66 character attacking Emperor Palpatine Sith Lord? A: Yes. Q: What exactly does it mean when the attack or ability is "redirected". Does the other character become the target? A: No. It becomes a non-targeted attack on the selected character, so something like Draw Fire would no longer be possible after redirecting for example. I guess the FAQ is wrong and you guys are right!!!

So from the FAQ its(the redirect) a non-targeted attack, can be used vs nobles and Order 66. unless I am reading the FAQ wrong.

Under normal circumstances, when the Diplomat ability is in effect, that character can not be targeted OR attacked. A non-targeting attack is still an attack, which is why Lord Vader has to combine Lightsaber Sweep with Overwhelming Force to get around both restrictions.

So if Jar Jar forces a character to attack a Diplomat while another enemy is in LOS, the attack is effectively ignored?

Right you are! My favorite part of that thread: Nickname wrote:Bombad is designed to unpredictably drop an anvil on anyone's head if they get near Jar Jar.

I think Rob did a good job with Bombad Gungan since its just annoying to try and understand let alone play against.
