It's not that I think the moderators don't do a good job ( heck, it's the exact opposite) but I think this would make things a lot more interesting.

I don't see why we can't trust the system as is. Besides, a voting system could easily lead to just the more popular people being nominated, not necessarily the most competent.

I see enough politicians elected into office that can't do the job. I don't want mods put into place that can't either

inseed I'm for one glad there are Finally mods doing stuff!
but I think it's a privately owned site and should be up to it's inner circle of participants to choose who has what athority
That doesn't precluse "Us" from offering suggestions.. I just don't think a popularity contest is the way to make mods

Absolutely not. Modding is a position that should be inherently unpopular. You can't have mods be hesitant to do their job because it would be unpopular. They should only be answerable to one person: Shinja.
