Moza put this squad together and I was wondering what everyone thought.

Honestly, first glance is that this has very little damage potential at 200 points and it is lacking sufficient door control. I ran a 150 point version in a tournament a couple of months ago, and I performed pretty well. I took 2nd out of just 6, but it was hard to pull that off, and I blame the squad for that problem more than anything else. This was my squad:

The biggest problem with my squad was that once Mara is dead, it was hard to pull off wins. The games I won were the games where Mara was alive to the end. The one game I lost was due to Mara dying prematurely before she was able to due enough damage.

With your (Moza's) squad, once Mara is gone, the squad is pretty weak. The even bigger problem is that Anakin Solo only becomes useful when Mara is defeated, and it would be more effective if you could use both to effectively damage the opponent with both in the game.

Jagged Fel and the pilot are of little use to the squad as well. I would drop for a felucian.

Anakin is a difficult mini to use even at this point, and you have to be extremely cautious, because anyone who knows how to deal with this squad knows that eliminating Anakin fast is a high priority, and it's usually not too difficult. It can be pretty hard to use Unleash The Force without getting any of your own team (other than the Kel Dor), but if you can pull it off, go for it.

I would recommend practicing with the squad several times before playing with it in a tournament. That will bring to light the bigger downfalls of the squad, and help you learn how to run a mini like Anakin Solo.

The better change to the squad would be to drop Anakin an Antarian and the Cloud Car Pilot for Dash Render, RS, an R7 and two more ugnaught demolitionists.

Mara Jade SKYWALKER?!?! Someone actually PLAYED her? A tip: Don't. There are so many other fantastic options for the NR for around 50 points. Mara Jedi is an excellent substitute; I'd go with that. Also, I'd try to get Leia Jedi in here; the NR just isn't the same without her in there, and it gives you a much better chance of survival to get your fragile pieces like Anakin up in the mix.

I actually didn't even pay attention to the Mara being used. I'm so used to using Mara Jade, Jedi, that I just assumed Mara Jedi.

I would also recommend using Mara Jedi over Mara Skywalker. Going with or without Leia is an option. I would say if you face a lot of heavy shooter squads, Wedge/Leia combo is very effective, but if you face solid melee squads as well, Leia is almost a waste (25 points for rerolls that aren't happening very often).

So if I'm predicting the competition to be pretty diverse, I use Wedge but not Leia. Last time I thought I would be facing lots of heavy nonmelee, and almost every squad I faced was Non-melee based (actually besides 1 Dash Render, I didn't face any other decent shooters......talk about a waste of using Leia and Wedge!) That 48 points could have gone towards some solid shooters of my own or another solid melee or two.

@moza. The basic synergy of your squad seems to be wedge giving evade and mobile attack, there really isnt any other synergy givin that helps a whole lot.

I'm guessing your using jag cause Anikan is a pilot? that helps ani out but the reason you should be playing him is for his force powers. When i use him i normally just let him chase around my beats and have him use his force push 2 a ton, 20 auto damage and moving pieces can really frustrate your opponent and ani can do it with mobile attack with wedge.

As far as Mara Skywalker goes you can get a better fighter for 11 points less via Kol Skywalker. The ossis guardian is a good cheap tank and is great against force users i like using him to destroy my friends Force Push 40 team.

So if you use anikan for his push 2 you can take advantage of another great trick via the Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo. For 18 points he gives you a great shooter +13 for 30 with opportunist and a great ce that gives Greater Mobile Attack to your followers. So you can push 2 someone off of your beat then move and still do all your attacks, smell that its called "synergy".

So if i was to build something similar id suggest this.

You have a strong beat in Kol who gets greater mobile, use the felucian to put damage on something / kill some uggs or mice then die so anikan can do what he wants, Twi'lek and rangers give you some fire support, r7 for override, dodonna for control, evading uggies to take care of enemy shooters, mice for spreading Greater mobile to Kol, and the guardian can help Kol take out big targets.

It may have 'synergy' as you claim but the damage output is hideously low for 200 points.


If you are going to use NR use their best quality: power.

Kyle JBM, Mara Jedi, Han GH, are all great to build around.

If you are going to do the Wedge + Greater Mobile with the Twi'lek then use someone who can use it to the max like Kyle. Him + Luke Force Spirit+Wedge+TBSV = crazy damage and survivability. I would personally use him with a support attacker who can do more than 40 in some situations like the Ossus, Kyp is far more multi-purpose and can deal 80 while moving. You could also just add Mara Jedi.

Kol is a good secondary attacker, in 200 he shouildnt be the only figure on your squad with more than 80 HP.

Thing is you have to pick your route:

1) Greater Mobile Jedi. Kyle, Kol, etc.

2) Shooters with Leia for extra Evade rerolls like Han GH and Cad Bane.

3) Assaulters/Support shooters. Mara, Kyp, Wedge, and a few Antarians wouldn't be bad. You don't waste points on a TBSV trying to give GMA to one person.

That is not how Greater Mobile Attack works, nor is it how one can use abilities that replace attacks.

1. To use a force power or special ability that replaces attacks, it replaces ALL attacks reguardless of extra attacks and/or Greater Mobile Attack.

2. When using Greater Mobile Attack, you may do one of 3 things:

a. Use ALL of your attacks then move up to speed.
b. Move, use ALL your attacks, move the remainder of your speed.
c. Move up to speed then make ALL of your attacks.

You cannot split up your attacks between movement. Once you begin attacking using GMA, you may not move and resume attacking or use special abilities/force powers.

not what i meant. I meant anijan can push someone off your beat in this case kol and then kol can move and do his attacks
