Is there another character in your squad with the same name as anakin?
Can palps bring in Unique Jedis?
if the answer is no and yes (which it would be ;) )
Then you can.

That is incorrect. Once they are part of your squad, they are part of your squad in terms of Unique, even if defeated. You cannot bring back a Unique that has already been part of your squad.
This is in the FAQ under Unique.

So I couldn't even have one version of ,say, Lando and then after he is defeated, bring another in?

A: No. If you already added a particular Unique character to your squad, either during squad construction or with an earlier use of Reserves, you cannot add that Unique character (or a character that counts as that Unique character) to your squad with a later use of Reserves. how bout that.. learn something new everyday.
