Did anyone have serial numbers on the base of the mini at the back of it? I preordered a few pieces and the rares and very rares were numbered but not the commons or uncommons. Is there a reason for it or maybe just a mishap at the factory?

Maybe it is a way to track unauthorized sales.

Did you notice this on only the newer sets? Or all the sets?

I think it has just appeared on Dark Times. I remember someone else posting a thread on it.

Are the figures out of boosters?

It's possible that if they did not come from retail boosters that the numbering is part of some sort of inventory tracking that WotC or the factory did to try and control leaks or track production samples. It's even possible that they aren't serial numbers, but mold or batch numbers.

UPDATE: Over on Bloomilk someone posted a picture on the pull thread. It's implied that the figure came out of a booster pack. For those who are wondering, the serial number is very obvious, printed in white on the back edge of the base. The photo there was very blurry so it's hard to say more.

Only for DT. I usually make an order once a month and this has been the first time.

It's on all the DTs Rs and Vrs. And it's the same number. Can't tell you why, but it was consistent in our cases.

Interesting, I guess I will be finding these #s on my minis later tonight...
These serial #s are on the minis themselves?

Yes, it's a small white number printed on the round side of the base (hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it). And it's clearly not a "serial" number, as it's not nearly long enough. It's probably some kind of batch number or something.
