If my GOWK is adjacent to an opposing character, can I use Force push 3 to blast another opposing character that is not adjacent?
Would I not have to attack the adjacent character first as my legal target?
Follow up question; Can a character fire out of adjacency with an opposing character to one that is not adjacent?
These two situations came up at some games tonight.

No it follows normal targeting rules for push.
IF someone is adjacent to you they are your only target unless you move or kill them with your first shot then double on someone else or something similar.
no.
Interesting point of note with gowk if you push someone adjacent to you with him he will get pushed as well if there are not other targets included. Learned that one the hard way.

Cool. What you said was exactly what I thought.
Just wanted to clarify this because I had based my opponents GOWK and he tried to Force Push 3 some of my other characters that were in range.

Not quite. A character affected by their own push will take damage and must make the activation save (if applicable), but they do not move. This is covered in the FAQ under Force Push.
