If you lose a force point and gain a point at the beginning of your turn, you're right back where you started, but you can't have negative force points. Do you get to decide which order to take the effects? So if you have FR1 and 0 force points, can you choose to first lose a force point (leaving you still with 0) and then gain a force point (leaving you with 1)?

What you're interested in here is the net gain or loss. +1 -1 is 0 as is -1 +1.

Oh wait. I see what you're asking. You know this was covered waaay back in COTF with Exar Kun and Qui Gon's Force Spirit. I forget how it resolved since it's hardly ever played anymore. Let me look it up and I'll get back to you if someone else hasn't answered.

Simultaneous Effects rules alow you to choose the order of these effects. So yes, lose a point then gain a point.
