So, obviously some people are bent out of shape over Wizards of the Coast and their handling of this game. So, I was thinking. Now that you know how it all ends would you do it again? On Sept. 3rd 2004 would you buy that first booster or starter of Rebel Storm?
I started playing the fall of 2006 when Bounty Hunters came out, so I am not someone who has been there from the beginning. I do own all the pieces though and would gladly do it all over again. I love the pieces and friends I have made over the years, now some stats, meh that is a different story, but I would definitely do it all over again as I believe all games have a life span and it was apparent a long time ago that Wizards ran out of quality ideas for this game. I also am able to take a step back and enjoy the game for what it is and not try to turn it into something it's not.
So, what's your story? Would you do it again knowing how it all turns out?

Yep, I'd do it all over again. It's a great game, I still have fun playing, we have a good group of league players, met some good people, had fun at regionals, enjoy podcasts (others and ours), etc etc. To paraphrase Monty Python and the Holy Grail: 'It's not dead, yet.' Collectible games don't have an infinite shelf life. But you can enjoy it while it's there and even after -- the community is still here. So go and play some more.

Oh definatly. I regret not getting in on day one. Lots of good people. I got into to it to collect first. I still have many of my WEG minis and RPG books. So, my regret is that there are still several minis i wished would have found their ways into one set or another.

Oh yes, I'd do this all over again. The matches, the collecting, the squad building, the people I've met, and this great forum have made all the time, money, and trouble of roughly three years of SWM very much worthwhile.
In a way, I am doing this over again with WOTC's new fledgling product and my newest gaming addiction: Axis and Allies War At Sea.

@ mercenary moose- Which we play happily together just like we did Star Wars. A lot less trolls and know it alls in that game too. Just some really die hard history buffs that get quite upset when the ships aren't done right. Can you blame them? This is history we are talking about here!
I loved this game from the moment I saw it at San Diego Comic Con July 2004. I drooled for the next 50 plus dyas waiting to get my hands on it. I remember Boba and Han being my first booster rares, and selling my Nintendo Gamecube to buy more boosters. I have every piece in the game, and would have bought more sets. So yes I would do it all over again.

Five or six years is a pretty good run for a collectible game, and I'm happy enough with all the stuff I've collected up to this point. I find myself less angry at Wizards for ending the game than I am for all the blasted repeats after repeats they gave us in the game's last year when there were still so many long overdue figures still waiting to get designed.
I can't imagine never having started though just because the game would eventually end. Heck, I'm still a huge fan of D&DMinis 1.0, and look what happened to that one. Wizards not only killed it and buried it deep, but - even worse - they split the player base while they were doing so. And yet I've still got all my 1.0 stuff, and I still look (desperately!) for chances to play it. I'm even still buying the occasional singles for it off ebay & miniature market. SWMinis is the same way for me. The game's ending certainly isn't going to stop me from wanting to play or make me wish I'd never started.

Yes of Course, I love all the good expirences that are reationated with the game, like make good trades around the globe, wait for the minis involved, the expetation around the next set, all the rumors, discover a new store that sell minis, and the best, find that in my city is people that was interested in this game, and teach they to play, and make new friends, of course that this 29 of September that I brought only one Booster and the Starter was the begin of the new way of collect Star wars, and if in this day I knew that this game will be finished 5 years later but I have all this expirences I don't care and brought again, thanks Wizards, greettings.
