Do these two work together? Would that be Unleash the Force 80!?

No, protective +20 only works on attacks and Unleash the force is not an attack.

Whenever there is a bonus to Damage, it only applies to attacks, as it is the only thing that uses the damage stat. This is covered in the FAQ.

Glossary definition of Damage (not to be confused with damage).

ok I found this:

"Replaces Attacks"

Quote:
Q: Do special abilities that apply to "attacks" or when "attacking" also apply when using an ability that replaces attacks?

A: No. Any ability that specifically applies to attacks affects only actual attacks, not abilities that replace attacks. Note that some abilities that replace attacks generate further attacks, like Lightsaber Assault, and special abilities applicable to attacks would still affect these attacks even though they were generated by an ability that replaces attacks.

I don't see anything to address Jacean Solo and his Protective +20

and the ability Protective +20 simply states:

Quote:
Protective +[#]: This character gets a +[#] bonus to Damage while the specified ally is wounded and within 6 squares.

and Unleash the Force simply states:
Quote:
Unleash the Force [#]: (Force; 4 Force points) This Force power is not usable until an ally with a Force rating is defeated. Instead of making its normal attack or attacks, a character with this Force power deals [#] damage to all other characters within 6 squares (enemies and allies alike). Each potentially affected character can reduce the damage by half with a save of 11.

I don't see anythign that prohibits the combination?

Protective +20 does NOT specifiy damage to AN attack..simply that this characters damage out put is increased by 20?

can you link me too or show me in the FAQ where it states that Protective +20 is specifically for Attacks?

so the capitalization is the defining characteristic here in the SA Protective +20?

Effectively. when something is +X Damage, it is a bonus to the Damage stat, which is how much damage a character does on an attack. Unleash the Force is not an attack, and thus does not use the Damage stat.

Honestly, if you're playing at home in a friendly game, you might as well use your own interpretation. Jacen is kind of overcosted as is anyway. He could use a boost. Just be aware of the "right" interpretation.

Don't do that to teach a friend how to play SWMs though, that'd be a bit harsh and there would be no second game lol.
