I've never been to Gencon before so I have a question. Are there any events you have to go through before you can get to Gencon or tickets you have to buy or stuff like that?

This year, no there were not. I have seen discussions about qualifying, but I am not to sure it will happen for next year, but I don't know.

But regardless of whether the Championships require a qualifier or not in the future, there will be plenty of events to play in.

As for tickets, you have to buy the event ticket or the specific number of generics through Gencon.
