I liked the original Anakin ghost. Greedo never shot.
Other than that, the improved effects and extra scenes were pretty good.

I have no problem with the special effects being enhanced or with cool little scene extras and add-ons. For the most part I loved them. And I'll admit the minor tweaks to the Han/Greedo scene in the second release of the Special Editions weren't quite as bad as in the first Special Edition, but it was still a completely unnecessary change. Jar Jar in Return of the Jedi though? Ugh. Thanks George. IIRC that isn't jar jar at all...jsut some random gungan here we go Either way is too much for me.

Watching Empire on the digital screen at CV, I was amazed how well that movie holds up, as Well As ANH and ROTJ. What other 30 year old movie holds up like those with all those Awesome special effects. The new Effects just add to it. Lucas made an interesting statement which helps me to examine my perspective., He said that when The Original SW came out, It was the young kids and teenagers that kept making their parents take them to see it over and over. The Older Generation just could not understand that. When the Prequels came out It was the young ones who wanted to see it over and over and the older generation, including those who loved the OT who hated it. That was reflected in the hate for JAR JAr, at least among the older generation, while the young kids loved Jar JAr. Lest we forget that as a Kid, We liked the Ewoks and never gave it a second though while the ones young during ANH hated it. In turn , Lucas brought out that In a New Hope, People hated C3P0. The Ewoks took he hate from C3po, Jar Jar took the hate from the Ewoks. Ive long wondered why I just Haven't been able to get into the Clone Wars. Ive tried to. I went to the Original Screening At CIV. I stood up and cheered when They showed footage. Ive tried, and There is hope for new ones but, Maybe I'm to old . I'm almost 36 now.. Maybe that in itself dooms me from appreciating George's works in the Clone Wars. Well, If I can't get into it, Ive had a good run. I love the OT and The PT for different things. Ive got my Star Wars Room with a ton of cool things but I doubt I will be spending my Money on an Ashoka lightsaber to hang on my wall. Thats OK... I'm Making a Hoth , Empire room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I like the original unedited versions. That doesn't necessarily translate into me hating the extras in the Special Editions. Just a preference.
As for the Clone Wars, originally I thought how the heck are they going to expand a war that spanned a bit over one movie into an entire series?
What drew me in to CW was the Republic Commando books by Karen Traviss. I totally got hooked on Omega Squad, and all the other characters (ex-Jedi Mando!).

The fact that Palpatine is on both sides and he wins regardless of which side wins the war takes a lot of the wind out of the sails of CW. Even more so because we know how it ends.

The special editions were very hit or miss. ANH was generally a hit (restored footage good, Han/Greedo shot first bad), ESB changes were meh, but by the time I got to RotJ, it was all yuck (rotten produce for Jabba's new lead singer, and I think we should re-name the saarlac Seymour!).

There is some bad and good in it all. I really want to likle the Clone Wars but i just cant get by the 'style' of the characters. Why do that when you could make it like FU FMV? Every month or so I try to watch it, but just way to styalised. I much prefer the books now. At least our brains can iron out the kinks. Expect to see No puppet yoda in the PT maybe event the OT. In SW in concert they removed puppet yoda from TPM and replaced him with a CG one. Expect to see the OT Vader Vs Obi-Wan completely remade with CG. If you have watched the Addidas SW world cup tralier, you'll see what they can do. It'll keep being tweaked. And then with CG actors, ala Avatar, we will get Episodes VII, VIII, IX

The restored ANH scene with Han and CG Jabba really grates on me. First of all, I think the scale and quality of the Jabba CG character seem off. Secondly, if Jabba is really one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in the galaxy, why is Han stepping all over his tail...and why would Jabba stand for such disrespect? I just never liked how that remade scene came together--especially when compared to Jabba's portrayal in RotJ.

So Jabba is the most dangerous crimelord in the galaxy, and Han can talk to him like that? Never made sense to me, it was funny to see. And also horrible, the CG of Jabba was like something from my Spectrum 128k! I could pick so may faults with all except ESB to be honest. But then I can pick so many bits that are just fantastic! It depends on your mood when you watch it. God Bless you and God blasted you Lucas, for making such an amazing escape!

I think it would have made sense if the whole greedo thing hadn't happen...on the one hand you want to say Han is a bad ass for shooting before Greedo can,but you want to limit his bad assery by being scared of Jabba I think it shows Han as a guy who don't take crap from anyone....

Agreed, but in ROTJ he is totally papping himself in front of Jabba. It doesnt gel that well...BUT the whole SW story is a house of cards waiting to tumble if you start picking at it... BUT back on track...are we getting as new company releasing sw minis?

I have almost every 3 3/4 inch figure and ship, and I think I'm going to get rid of the PT ones and keep the OT ones. (Way too much to collect)

It depends on your mood when you watch it. God Bless you and God blasted you Lucas, for making such an amazing escape! I don't know. That scene feels pretty natural to me. Jabba was dangerous, but he'd probably have called himself, ahem, a "businessman"... An evil businessman, but a businessman. I assumed that he was putting up with Han's little temper tantrum and ego in the same way that a high class restaurant owner might put up with a spoiled, prima donna chef - humoring him because he makes the owner an awful lot of money. Han was supposedly one of the best smugglers out there, and his ship was the fastest, so Jabba stood to make a lot of money from a live Han if he could be brought to heel. And, once it became apparent that Captain Solo was no longer cost effective, Jabba needed to cut him off and make an example of him. But that was just my take on it.
