You know what would be awesome? If the company who acquired the license had absolutely no real interest in collectible minis, and contracted the player's committee to make a v-set-like card-only set, selling it to LGS's to keep the game alive. Let Dean, Bill & their team keep control over the game, but have the new company distribute the game. This isn't unprecedented in the industry; Sony Online Entertainment did all the design and playtesting for the Stargate TCG, but Comic Images distributed the game. It helped that all of the SOE folks were ex-Decipher'ians, but this is a possibility if the new company has no interest in the collectible game market. Since all of the remaining manufacturers are making out-of-the-box games now, there might be little chance they'd want to venture there...

not to be completely negative, but i think they would have to liscense out the rules from WOTC also in order to make the cards similar. THat is partialy why i think dean is so scared right now. I would love to see something like that happen though. The idea of no new actual minis sucks, but i am a big customizer so i can always make more. ;)
