A) Neither one would be a legal target. Cad is not because of the superstealth CE, and the Ugnaught is not because it is not the nearest enemy.
B) Bane is further than 6 squares away, so Stealth would activate and he would no longer count as the closest enemy. The Ugnaught would then be considered the closest enemy and would be targetable.

If a character is not a legal target, but is still considered the nearest enemy (i.e. The situation FlyingArrow described), the next nearest enemy does not become the nearest enemy and a legal target. Why wouldn't it. The definition for SS states that they "cannot be targeted". If they cant be targeted except by adjacent enemies, that says they are NOT A LEGAL TARGET. Cover: A char can attack an enemy with cover only if tha enemy is the nearest one to the attacker (or tied for nearest) Stealth: If this character has cover, it does not count as the nearest enemy for choosing targets if the attacker is more than 6 squares away. A character can attack an enemy with cover only if that enemy is the nearest. If this character would be the nearest enemy, the next-nearest enemy counts as the nearest instead. Follow the normal rules for cover if the character with Stealth is within 6 squares of the attacker Superstealth : characters in your squad with stealth who have cover cannot be targeted by non-adjacent enemies.

Cloaked: If this character has cover, nonadjacent enemies cannot target it and do not treat it as the nearest enemy when choosing targets. Thus, Accurate Shot cannot target this character if it has cover. A character with Sniper can target this character if the only intervening cover is provided by other character, which the Sniper ability ignores. Cloaked has that extra bit about not being treated as the nearest enemy. SS does not, so, if a SS is in cover and within 6 of your character, but not adjacent, you can see him, he is the nearest enemy, (asuming no one else is closer) you just can't target him.

Just because you cannot be targetted by something does not exclude you from being the closest enemy. Take Thud Bug for example, it can only target living enemies. So if someone has all their characters in Cover, with a non-living character being the closest, your character(s) with Thud Bug cannot target anyone even if there is a living character within 6. juice man is correct in referrencing the Cloaked definition in comparison to Super Stealth. Just because SS has the additional effect of only being able to be targetted by adjacent enemies when in Cover, this does not override the Stealth SA. Sincerely, Jester007
