Ok. So, Jar Jar and the gungun shieldbearer. Jar Jar can use draw fire for a melee attack as long as he is in range, correct? And he can use bombad gungun if he gets the draw fire? Can he use bombad gungun to make the attacker do damage to someone who is not a legal target (I know it says this in the glossary, but I'm not sure if that works for a melee attack affecting someone 3 squares away from the attack, or a ranged attack where a character is behind a wall)?
Attacks of opportunity: Can you use grenades on an attack of opportunity? I am aware that it would damage yourself. Can you use bombad gungun on attacks of opportunity? What about draw fire?
Very specific scenario: Assuming the gungun shieldbearer was targeted by a nonadjacent ranged attack, could he make the save for energy shield, and if he fails Jar Jar could draw fire and use bombad gungun, and if the bombad gungun failed, the energy shield special ability would apply to Jar Jar?

Yes, you can force a Melee attack on a non-adjacent character. You can also force the attacker to attack himself.
You cannot use Grenades on an AoO, only attacks (which are rolls of the dice and addition of stat bonuses). Draw Fire and Bombad Gungan, AFAIK, cannot occur during AoO because AoO do not follow normal targeting rules (and both Draw Fire and Bombad Gungan revolve around targeting rules).
You wouldn't be able to use Draw Fire after Energy Shield failed due to the timing. Energy Shield save is made after the attack has already been rolled, Draw Fire must occur before the attack is rolled. So what you would have to do is force Draw Fire on the opponent when they declare they're attacking the Shieldbearer, then if that works you roll Bombad Gungan. If that fails, then the attacker makes his attack against Jar Jar, and Jar Jar would roll for Energy Shield.

Yes. Quote: Can he use bombad gungun to make the attacker do damage to someone who is not a legal target (I know it says this in the glossary, but I'm not sure if that works for a melee attack affecting someone 3 squares away from the attack, or a ranged attack where a character is behind a wall)?
Yes, the attack can be redirected to anyone within 6 of Jar Jar, even the attacking character themselves. Quote: Can you use grenades on an attack of opportunity?
No. Quote: Can you use bombad gungun on attacks of opportunity?
No, as AoO do not target. Quote:What about draw fire? No, as AoO do not target. No, as the abilities happen at different points. Draw Fire and Bombad Gungan happen when a character is targeted. Energy Shield takes place when a character is hit by an attack; at that point the window to Draw Fire/Bombad Gungan would be long since past.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. One more thing. Draw fire can be used for grenades (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=swminis/article/faq#faq) but can bombad gungun?
Also, so, according to what you guys said, if Jar Jar is in a position to make the draw fire save and succeeds, and succeeds on bombad gungun, the target could be ANYWHERE within six of Jar Jar, even behind in a closet with an overridden closed door or even six away if the attack is melee? That just seems cheap, but I can't find anywhere that it says something against this.

You would not be able to redirect the attack to a character in a locked room as they would not be within 6 of the character (Remember, when counting range, go around walls/closed doors, not through them).
A melee attack can be redirected to a character that's not adjacent.
As for cheapness, it's really not. Bombad Gungan can easily be overcome by proper positioning or using abilities/force powers that don't target like Strafe Attack or Force Repulse.

Gallop targets, so it can be affected by Bombad Gungan.

If the definition lists "target" then it targets, if it doesn't them it doesn't.

Because the glossary entrys for Strafe Attack, Lightsaber Sweep, and Attack of Opportunities SPECIFICALLY states that they do not follow normal targetting rules. Attacks always are considered to target, even if there is restrictions on who it is, unless it is stated otherwise.
