If you are planning on teaching your children (or future children) how to play minis, post it here! BlooMilk

Well, yes. My twins (boy/girl) are 4 and my oldest daughter is 6. I have been working on a second set for them for awhile now. The girls are definatly about girl power and my son is into the storm troopers and the clone troopers the most. He makes up his own battles and fights the bad guys. It's a good way help teach them with the counting, reading, playing with rules and other people. Not to mention we will also use them for RPG play in the future as well.

My child taught me to play minis, several years back, and he's still not quite a teenager yet. BigGrin

But, I will gladly teach other people's children when the opportunity arises. BlooMilk

I will be passing them on= as toys and teaching them the game and RPG with them. I will not be getting rid of them.
I recently saw on ebay the price of the Original Hasbro Milleniam Falcon. I had that with box.
It would have been worth £800.00 :( had my parents not convinced me to GIVE IT AWAY!!!!!!!!Crying Crying Bomb

I have introduced my daughter to them because she loved star wars and I didnt want to buy the normal figures. I thought these were more likely to be collectible as well.

At the moment she doesn't get the concepts properly, so we either play highest d20 wins or something similar.

However I have decided to buy some attacktix figures, my thought is that in principle this is a much more "immediate" game, which is easier for little minds who get distracted easy, but I can use it to teach her the value of covering players, getting into positions for shooting, etc. I have some scenery that I created for her to play SWM with (mini forests, buildings), so we move between, etc. This way she will learn LOS, melee combat advances (you cant be out in the open with only a lightsaber), etc. As she gets older (she is 4 now), I will teach her more stuff (although she does like the force powers in SWM :) ), which she can use in SWM/RPG stuff.

My son is 4 years old and has seen a couple of Clone Wars episode. I plan to watch A New Hope with him soon but will wait at least 4 or 5 years I guess before introducing him to the game.

Like I say I suggest Attacktix you can put up cardboard boxes (get him to paint/draw buildings), and then you can show him why cover and shooting lanes are important, also why melee fighters need toget close before fighting.

My son is 10 and plays almost every weekend when he's at my house. Though lately he plays with them like they're toys and not minis.

My son is 5 and loves his "little guys" as he calls them. Is huge into the Clone Wars cartoon, but loves the original trilogy better than the prequel (I have taught him well). I totally plan on introducing him to the SWM game and some RPG as well. His friends from school like SW too, so maybe they'll have a little gaming group of their own in a few years.

Me and my 7 yo (almost 8 now) play as often as possible. It is fun to sit down and see what type of squad he comes up with. Lately he has gotten realy synergetic with his squads. He thinks differenty then i do when moving/attacking and has a different mindset about the game. I look forward to playing minis with my 3 yo as well when he gets older...3 way swm battles galore.

I used to play with my 13 year old daughter a few years back, even brought her to Bellevue to play in a tourney when she was 11. Since then school work and athletic obligations have taken up most of her free time. I do play with my younger kids, the twins (boy/girl) will be 6 in Nov. and the youngest is 3. Of those the little guy has no patience for games lasting longer than Connect 4, the twin daughter is not much into games either, she'd rather play dress up, but I have great hope for my twin son. Not only does he share my name, he shares my love of games as well! We try and play as often as time allows us. Last nights game went down to the wire, but he prevailed with his Captain Rex killing the last of my B3 Ultra Battle Droids due to some very poor rolling on my part and excellent rolls from him.

I'm only 18 so children are a little ways away, but I still carry on my duty as a Star Wars miniature gamer. My eldest brother taught me and my twin, then he and I taught four of our friends, (and if I ever get more than 4 friendsCrying ) I plan an teaching the worthy...aka they know Han shot first and they're not jerks. I have a new born nephew, and as soon as I can, I'm going to teach himThumbsUp . Maybe I can even teach my friend's girlfriend. mwa ha ha !!!
