I am doing research for a marketing class I am taking and was just wondering if anybody has any info about the annual sales of Wizards of the Coast(in general or for specific products)over the past few years? I posted here, because you guys are pretty knowledgeable and friendly, and I also posted a thread over in the Wizards of the Coast forums. Any help on who to contact for more info would be great too!

I don't think you'll be able to find anything, unless someone from WOTC contacts you to provide you with that information. I did a quick google search and while there's an outdated company profile there are no financials (which would tell you sales etc...). It was suggested that their financials are lumped in with Hasbro's in which case it will be difficult to try and separate that.

because WotC is not a publicly traded company, they have no obligations to release financial information to the public. So you are highly unlikely to find anything. There might be potential that division-specific financials would be separately listed in the Hasbro's Annual Report (usually available on their website) but just as likely to not be. You're better off researching a known publicly traded company for a project like this.

MTGslavation would be IMO better place to ask for this kind of info, recently I saw a link to the frist quarter report, but now I can't find the link. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Actually, I believe WotC IS a publicly traded company. At least, they were at one time. That is how Hasbro acquired them.

WotC was never publicly traded. Adkison owned it right up until he sold it to Hasbro. Once it was bought by Hasbro it was included in their public reports, however the reports rarely go down to the level of specific product lines. I think the best you can get is what profit or loss WotC had as a unit.

http://www.google.com/finance?cid=2176870no listing price for stocks generally indicates privately owned. They may have been publicly traded at one point, but maybe when Hasbro bought them, they simply absorbed them, instead of keeping it a separate entity.
