Playing recently and this came up. Force Push: push target x spaces away
Force Repulse: push target to x spaces away
The argument was FP counts terrain, FR just counts spaces, not terrain. The reasoning was the word "to" in FR. The glossary in the book and the FAQ's don't clarify this.
Question- is this correct?

Push counts spaces from the target's location. Repulse counts spaces from the acting character.
But I don't know about the terrain.

Terrain affects movement from Push as normal. Repulse is to a set distance, so some characters may end up moving more than others.

Just to be clear- you don't count terrain for repulse.

When a character is being moved by Repulse, terrain such as Difficult and Low Objects do not "slow down" the character. If a character is being Pushed, then the terrain is a factor when moving him/her. Sincerely, Jester007

I think this is the right way to think of it. For repulse you could say that terrain slows the character down if you wanted, but it doesn't make any difference if they're slowed down or not. That's because you're not counting how many squares they move. You're counting where they end up based on range. I like the terms range and movement in this discussion - the word distance is a bit ambiguous since it could refer to either. Thanks again, Sithborg.

Thank you all for bringin this topic up!
I was never exactly sure about the differences between the two but now it's all crystal clear!
And since I'm expecting Master Kota in the mailbox soon, I needed to know! :)
