I am needing a little help understanding a rule. Why can R2-D2 Astromech droid use towcable and override in the same turn? Tow cable replaces turn. Usually, when using an ability that replaces your turn, you forfiet all other actions you can make during your turn.
For example, if a character has double attack, ambush, and charging fire, the character cannot use all three abilities together. Despite the fact that ambush does not require the use of replacing attacks or any other action, you cannot move 12 squares and attack twice. This is because charging fire replaces turn (unless my logic needs correcting).
So why then, is it ruled that doombot can tow, and then lock a door? Yes, just because the tow replaces his turn does not mean his turn does not have an "at the end phase", but by the same logic, other abilities that don't work when the pieces turn is replaced should work.
Just need someone to make a little more sense of it for me.

While Tow Cable replaces turn, a turn is still happening, so end of turn abilities may still be used.
Also. Ambush and Charging Fire do work together, it's just that when you use Charging Fire, your total attacks are reduced to one. Double Attack would not be usable because the part of the turn where it could be used has been replaced by Charging Fire.

On a similar note, does the Aerial Clone Trooper Captain's CE work when he is combining fire?

It activates during the attackers turn, but does not have a turn of its own. The CE triggers at the end of it's turn, which is loses if it tries to use spotter or the likes.

Hmm, in that case it's kinda silly that it has Spotter 20. Silly Wizards :l
