Great job to everyone involved.

V-set 2 (Renegades and Rogues) is planned to release at Gencon in August, so I'll guess it will be a while yet before they set up the kickstarter. But I don't really know...

In all reality I hope that we never do another kickstarter. I hope for future sets people will be willing to just donate to swmgamers or whoever is in charge so that the SWM community can use all the money raised instead of having some people end up not paying (even though they pledged) and have 2 middlemen (kickstarter and amazon) take big cuts out.

But that is just me

+1 - this would be MUCH better in all respects. I'll be ready to donate as soon as they are ready.

agreed as to being a better method. but how to set it up. well people what would we need.
-some way to keep track of how much was donated.

what if we all told dean that we we're gonna start donating early for the next v set via the donate button on swmgamers. maybe it could increase the amount of v set cards produced.

The Donate function on SWMGamers is setup with Paypal, as long as you were to include your name/address/number of sets you're donating for, then we'd have a way to keep track of it.

I wasn't happy when I heard of the cut KS and Amazon took, but there will be an announcement sent out when were ready to ask for help with the project, funding-wise.

Thanks for all your interest. DotF was a game changer and we hope you'll be as excited about R&R.

Ruhk and I are both admins over there. BM one of us your login and what you want your password to be and we should be able to fix it.

FWIW, the Donate via Paypal option on SWMGamers probably takes a small cut from that money as well, as PayPal usually does. Probably not as much as the Kickstarter/Amazon combo though. The bigger problem with using the Donate/PayPal option on SWMGamers is keeping track of everything. Kickstarter has a really nice setup for keeping track of all of the information in one place. If we use the Donate feature on SWMGamers, it ends up meaning a LOT more work for somebody, and in this case, probably Dean, since he's the one the Donate button is set up to send money to. I don't know about you guys, but I don't really want to burden Dean with any more work than he's already got (which is too much anyways, IMO, lol).

Then some other trusted person needs to step up. The big problem with kickstarter is that it doesn't take the money when you pledge, so you may pledge without ever having any intentions of actually donating (Dean mentioned something like 25 pledges not going through and at $20 a pop that is at least $1000). Also paypal takes about 3% and from what I heard from listenning to SHNN and other sources Kickstarter takes closer to 15%. That is a big difference.

Yeah, I understand the complaints about Kickstarter. However, I think it is just to convenient to give up, IMO.

Either way is good for me . Donating over at gamers was very easy but I'm sure it would take some of the stress of of Dean by using Kickstarter, I sure that some of the other issues that came out will get ironed out also. After all that was the 1st time in The Star Wars Minis Community that such an Undertaking was done. As more sets come out, More people will also be willing to step up and help!
