poles are really useful!
with some string and a hook you can catch fish
some are used as hiking sticks
eleven foot poles come in handy for things you wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole
if hitler hadn't invaded the poles so easily, we would have missed out on all those jokes
without poles, devo would have nothing to put in the holes
