If you're going to trade with someone in Mexico, for the love of all that is holy, buy insurance on your item, and don't get too attached to that item, because you may never see it again. Just a heads up to everyone to make sure you keep all your bases covered when trading with someone from a country which has known issues with its postal system.

I have never had a problem and have traded with Kaxel multiple times (as well as plenty of other Non-US trades).

Yes I had this happen 3 years ago in a trade with Kaxel. It was me sending him a battle droid on stap from Clone Stirke. It got lost. To make good on the trade I bought another and sent it to him with insurance and one other thing that verifies I sent it.

I have also had bad dealing with post offices in South America (forgot which country) unfortunately now I am just very very leery of doing anything with someone from below the Rio Grande. I realize that may not be fair to our brethren down south but crap I always end up on bad end of the deal.

This is not an indictment of anyone in particular, just trying to make sure nobody loses their minis and has nothing to show for it, that's all.

I know demosthenes.

Guess I have just been lucky as I haven't ever had anything lost (either coming to me or going out) going out of the US.

Well, I hope Kaxel gets his package. I'm usually pretty lucky and live by the adage that god watches over fools, little children and Americans, and well, I'm almost 40 and I live in Canada...

I concur; this is not aimed at/against any SWM players south of the border, but rather at the Mexican Postal Service and their poor delivery record.

The company I work for has a plant in Mexico. We do not mail anything. We use UPS or other similar carriers. Our vendors come to the plant to get our checks to them.

If you stick to UPS/FedEX/DHL/etc etc where they can track the shipments, you should be okay from the delivery standpoint.

I could say the same about Lexinton Park MD, I never see again my Darth Caedus, Yes the Mexican Postal Office have problems like others even the USPS, there always a risk sending and International packages, there are Border to past, and like eveybody Knows here we have a serious Drogs Problems, the MPO needs to check all the packages that send, sometimes they need to open in the office and repack again, other5 time they tell me that it could be open in the Frontier, so you need to understand that, like always say I have until now more than 45 good trades, from US, Canada, UK, France, Malassia, and others countries that I can't remember right now, greettings.

That's precisely why I didn't aim this directly at you, Kaxel, I was just advising people in general to be careful trading with Mexico and to just buy insurance in case something happens. I am in no way trying to tell them not to trade with someone in Mexico, just to have all their bases covered.

I'm sticking this thread, as there has been a rash of this issue lately.

I reiterate this message I posted in the BTL thread:

TRADERS BE WARNED:

Do not ship anything to Mexico using the postal system, or without insurance. Use Fedex, UPS etc, with both tracking and insurance. It will be VERY expensive, but judging by what has been happening, you are at great risk of losing your minis if you send via normal means.

If you have active negotiations or confirmed trade agreements with traders from Mexico (or south of the border in general) that have yet to be shipped, I strongly suggest that you contact me before proceeding further.
