So my wife and I just had another baby and it might be time to part with my collection. I dont want to just dump it off. And since I spent alot of money putting it together, I'd like to make some of that back. My question is, should I sell it as a whole collection or sell them of in sets or sell the more unique pieces individually and throw some little guys in as a bonus???

The advice I would've given prior to the game's cancellation would be completely irrelevant now. Selling it as one large lot would be your best bet. Breaking it down into factions or individual rares will gain you the most money for exceptional pieces, however; you would lose your ass on the moderate to weak pieces.
Breaking them down into factions isn't as affective anymore because a majority of people have quit playing. The overall value of the minis is on the decline because of this and people are able to pick up larger lots. as When the value was at its peak and they had to settle for collecting their chosen faction so now it's time to complete collections.
My advice would be to keep it as a large chunk. If you break it up you'll end up throwing away, or being stuck with, the minis nobody wants.
Check eBay (only the completed auctions mind you) then base your decision on that.
Good luck!

I'm thinking that you would like to get the most money for the least effort.
Strikezoneonline.com generally pays the most for single mini's with cards. Then try miniaturemarket.com to sell the singles.
A buddy of mine just sold $1500 to strikezoneonline.com I've bought and sold many collections to them over the years (MW, MK, HC, WaS, SWM).
With all your remaining "junk" singles, make a list (takes effort) and post it on this site. Give a price for the entire lot (this will save you the about 8-10 % Ebay fees, no way to get around the 3% paypal fees).
If you even want the simpler way to sell the "junk" singles, post a picture. The offers will be much less without a list.

I don't really agree with your assessment. Many people overvalued their minis prior to ending, but prices haven't actually gone down that much. More like they've settled into a consistent range. The rares from 40 piece sets, sold for a couple of dollars at most prior to ending, and they still do. C/UC lots still do very well in bulk, because people who have full sets still want more of these. The best way to make your money, is to sell to online retailers - it's the easiest and they will take a large chunk of any collection. The second best way is to look at the buy prices they are offering, total it up, and make a full list of minis with a total price (don't go much over the buy price) and advertise. Breaking it down into pieces is tedious, and would get you more money overall, but probably not enough to make it worth the extra work. People will buy full collections for a couple hundred dollars - they won't give you thousands. Online places will get in the thousands, so it depends on how big it really is, and how much you want for it as to what's the best deal.

just like life, if you put more effort into it, you'll get more money. I've had success on eBay by offering lots of minis that include the most, and least desirable pieces before you sell them to an online retailer, offer bloomilkers a shot at buying some

I have replied to any bloomilkers with interest shown first.
Thank you for the helpful advise.
If I do decide to part with my minis, I would much rather them end up with one of our own!!!!!
