Hey bloomilkers, im on a quest to find a fine detailing brush that doesnt SUCK. I have used three different kind and had all three of them frayed to the point where there not usable for a fine tipped brush. I have to admit I havent payed over $10 for one yet but im willing to if any one knows a brush that they would swear by that I could use as well. As you probably all know I love customizing and would like to get the best tolls to do so. Any advice is much appreciated! BlooMilk

From what I've been told and seen posted here and at other sites, the best thing to use is a toothpick. You can sharpen them to get them where you want it. I'm pretty sure they are under $10. Laugh

I too was looking for fine-tipped brushes; as toothpicks do not give that same leveled look that brushes do. In addittion; theres no way any sharpened toothpick would be able to paint a small eyeball; lol.

Anyways; to my point. II went to Michaels; and found a bunch of really good fine tipped brushes. It wasnt quite 10 dollars--it was about 5.50 if i remember correctly. However; a friend of mine who was with me spotted a cheap pack of fine-tipped brushes for 4 bucks. It came with 4 various tipped thin-head brushes. I ended up buying those andthey worked great for me. Stop by local crafts store and see what they have instock! :)

All 3 of my brushes have come from Michaels DX.....and you have NO idea how hard it is to to get Celest Mourn to have red puiples on top of white eyes with a frayed brush....but I did it!

Just cut your brush with pocketknife scissors; this re-levels the edges, as well as making the hairs more stiff. The shorter they are, the more control you have.
