I was looking through the comments for PROXY and wanted to double check what had been said there. I assume the comments are correct but I just wanted to be certain before I insert him into a build.

Does PROXY keep the stats he copies until he chooses new stats or does a character have to be within 6 spaces for him to use their stats on any given turn?

The new stats replace Proxy's, essentially becoming his written stats, until he can copy again. He keeps it if he is further than 6 from the donor, or even if the donor is defeated.

I think it finally occurred to me why people talked so much about pairing PROXY with GGDAC. I was thinking strictly in terms of copying GGDAC's stats and I was left wholly unimpressed. But that misses the much much bigger picture.

I know it's a lot of points but I could conceivably put PROXY in a squad with Darth Tyranus, LotDS and GGDAC and turn PROXY into a monster. He could copy the 21/15/20 from Tyranus LotDS, get the +4 attack / +4 defense and Twin from GGDAC and run around with a +25 defense (29 in cover) / +19 attack and attack up to 4 times per turn with Double and Twin.

Is this all correct?

If it is then it's obviously way too costly to put in a 200 point competitive build but that's pretty wicked.

that is correct galactic Funk. you can even copy your oponents stats, so theymight be running around with a melee meat stick (vader), steal their stats and then get the +4, +4 twin. and still have room for suport

Yeah that would likely make for a much more competitive squad. Just using GGDAC's stats to get a +23 defense / +12 attack with the double and twin is pretty solid for starters. Of course at that point you might be better off running Assaj Ventress, SA and getting Stealth, Loner and Rolling Cleave with only a slight dip in stats for only 2 points more.
