As I work on customs, I was just wondering what others think on the subject. So, which species is under represented? Which species needs more mini's. Rare species (like Yoda's) I'm ok with their being scarce, but as an example, Cerean's were a supposedly core species of the RPG game yet in the SWM universe, Ki-Adi is the only example. What group Really needs more members?

Rodians ... Well, now you're being silly.

Agree that Jabba is the only Hutt, but examples of what I'm talking about

One species example;

Abyssin BS Thug
Arcona Smuggler
Nosaurian (Bomo)
Ubese (Boushh)
Caamasi Noble
Chagrian Merc Commander

I'm also talking about species with No representatives that should have figures and depending on what Era you enjoy, need figures for;

Examples

OR

Selkath
Rakata
True Sith

NR

Killik
Chiss

Essentially, I'm looking for ideas on what to create, whether it's a mini or card.

@surf,
I too am "scraping the bottom of the species-barrel" for customising ideas lol.
Trandoshan's do have a big representation, but are over-represented as bountyhunters.
Dinosaur jedi (all sorts really) are pretty rare; T'Mikel, Jedi Instructor (really just a Coleman Trebor), Vrax/that other long necked species from some archaic RPG scenario.
Cathar are fairly low on the list too,
Maybe some bothans?

Also, those crystaline Iron Knights from the Tales of the Jedi era (NR i think) and some gas-like beings from the books are rare too.
I think you could just run a force spirit as a proxy in either case. BigGrin

Clawdites are represented with 3 statcards; 2 of em are yours haha.
What about that 2 headed merchant from KOTOR? I dont know what species they are, but they look interesting.
Hope this helps,
And i'd call on any lurkers who've read any star wars lore over the ages to come forward with weird and wonderful species theyve seen over the years BigGrin

The two-headed guy might be a Troig (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Troig.) I don't quite recall.

I don't know if there are any Chistori which is what Desann was. Are there any pure-blood Sith minis? I don't think there are...

Trandoshans are pretty violent so they're usually Soldiers or bounty hunters; I think the Anx are the Dinosaurs you're thinking of and I did an Anx Jedi but haven't seen any other pics worth using. I've got a few Cathar pics for the future and have done a few already; same with the Bothans.

I like the Troig idea BigGrin I may use that one soon! I've done a generic Chistori and a Desaan. Not too many Chistori pics although I do have one more ....

I looked up the Vaagari; only one pic on the net and not very action-oriented and I've done a few Houk BlooMilk Never heard of the Skytiri and they're not on Wook. Who're they??

I do like the ideas and suggestions. Keep'em coming!

@surf
Ive done a little digging, and have come up with a modest list BigGrin
I put a few stat hooks in after each entry; tentative ideas which hopefully you'll play with BigGrin
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Iyra
Darth Starro, anyone? haha Local GMs suggest this creature needs a robotic suit or a repulsor-field bubble to survive outside of aquatic environments. I think force bubble and some terrain modifying abilities would suit this character (like, treat all low lying or difficult terrain as impassable, save 11)

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Celegian
Its essentially the SWEU version of GW40K's mind controller fringe character, (or those weird floating things from the Dark Forces saga). Known for battle meditation and mind tricks (pun intended on the part of rule writers?) Usually are natural leaders or gifted at information processing and sorting.

Dominate Mind seems a natural fit for a master of this species, perhaps with battle meditation or Jedi Instructor?
For a unique, could also be a CE/FP battery with Relay Orders, Force Renewal and Disruptive?.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ergesh
"Dude, i don't think you pee'd on a bush..."
Ergeshi: "You're under arrest!!!" haha, a player at my LGS used to RPG as one, completely slipped my mind lol. They're great as stealthy players, or as illusion/persuasion based jedi (always get bonuses to affect mind and illusion)
Can also be related to the tree-like race, (Neti I believe?).

Could also alter terrain, get bonuses in difficult terrain, speed 2 or something and swarm.
A master could have some traps ability, or affinity with other Ergesh/Neti?

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pulra
Shapechangers of a different kind to clawdites, (sorta like flubber or ditto from pokemon, a non-newtonian lifeform) regarded by my GM as a cross between Gendai and Clawdites, but often with much less dexterity and intelligence. Pretty neat spys, and a local RPGer got a destiny point recently for plugging a hole in our freighter when it was attacked (they couldnt man guns or pilot, or repair, so it was cool to see them spontaneously come up with that)

These characters tend to be reactive; maybe reposte and jedi reactions on a large based mini?
I think they'd also benefit from Cunning Attack and a bunch of nasty powers to compliment them. Maybe regenerate for survivability or Combine (sacrifice adjacent Pulran character; this character heals for the amount of HP the sacrificed figure had?) or Consume (inverse).

Uniques could be fun; could have thrawn swap ability, for fringe? Could have shapeshifter or mimetic combat style...

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Filar-Nitzan
Djinn-like, and often kept in a bottle or storage device when travelling with RPG parties, they make good spies and wicked force-users... A friend of mine made such a character years ago, basing it on the Thousand Suns lore... so it wore a 'possessed' suit of Stormtrooper armor.

Could be fun to come up with abilities/model this figure BigGrin
Im thinking it could be a non-unique force ghost, (sorta like what Lord Ball came up with for the sith shade custom I made a long time ago...) functionally, with uniques being a force ghost. An army could just be possessed armors/vessels (like D&D figures of the same name)...

I did a Celegian on page 10 of my thread. I've seen a decent pic of a Pulra; not sure what I could do with it. The other species are kinda out there and I'm Really not sure of what I'd do with them in a Mini kind of way. Appreciate the ideas though; I've gotten 5-6 good pics this morn because of you!

We don't have a Chev as far as I know, although they look pretty human anyway. They're a pretty prominent species to be unrepresented. Also, only one Chevin.

@Arrow - I've looked at Chev's; not much in the way of chev pic's, but I do look occassionally. Big foreheads and lidless eyes if you're looking to make a custom. I've done a few Chevin cards (Ephont Mon is the only mini) but I guess you could repaint Ephont if necessary.

@Bob - Quite a list you got there. It's gratifying to see that I've done cards on most of the list (and you've given me a few ideas.)If the custom mini guys could really look at that list, it would start some good discussions on how to make certain species ... maybe a topic for another thread .....

Thanks for the ideas.

Thanks, I don't look at your thread as often as I should, but I'm also glad that I have given you some ideas, and I'll make sure to check in for that Drall or Keshiri.Wink

Awesome list Bob, You Da Man! ThumpUp You gotta stay on top of surf's cards otherwise you get too far behind like I did and it'll take ya forever to catch up. That's the boat I'm in now. Crying

Thank you both for the kind comments; I'm assuming that since I'm not getting much on the cards I've overwelhmed people BigGrin I'm leaving town for a week and maybe people can catch up then.

@Bob

Looked up everybody that I wasn't familiar with on your list; several are Near Humans and I haven't really seen any pics worth doing on the Keshiri nad the Drall have one or two but they're rather "cute" looking and not very action-y or SWM useful.

Having said that I've got interesting pics (from species I've never/rarely done) from the following

Elomin
Baragwin
Esoomian
Vodran
Anx
Yevethan
Selonian (two!)
Sarkan
Tissshar

... and I've had a good Talz that I've been saving. I actually have another 25 done or nearly done, but the wife wants to start packing for the vacation and I better save my strength for the coming days .... maybe next weekend depending what I might get done tonight before I have to pack ....

I don't see Chiss on the list, but it isn't too common.

Yes, I've actually done several non-unique's and a few specific Chiss Faction cards. Thanks for noticing Bob BlooMilk

On a side note, without giving away what species, I've gotten 6-7 new species ready to go but can't decide their Factions. Some could be Rebel, some even Imperial, but it's getting annoying that like 95% of everything I've done the last few months seems Fringe, sub faction or not. Is this just the evolution of the game?

I've noticed even the V-Sets are doing a lot of uniques, which I'm trying to avoid, because let's face it, Stormies and Clones can have only so many variations. You can only have so many veteran, Elite, rookie, etc. of a soldier. Are we just going to rely on the ever expanding EU? I got a Fallen Combat Instructor from reading Plagius.
