Here is the small bit of info I gleaned from the very short broadcast:

Jedi Challenge results:

4th - Wes Morgan (Uggie Demo)
3rd - Rich Dionne (friend of Leshippy)
2nd - Greg Sutton (atlanta guy)
1st - Trevor Peyton (Thereisnotry)

TINT won a complete set of customs for Scum and Villainy

mentioned as prizes for the Bounty Hunter's Challenge:

2 cards, each 100pts, Ray said they are awesome, but no stats given, just names

Luke Skywalker, Master of the Order

Darth Sidious, Sith Mastermind

Hoth and Clone Wars mass battles were well attended

V-Set only tournament had a Rohm Moc squad, and someone played an absurd amount of Geonosian Drones with Poggle

An 8-year old kid that played Darth_Jim in the BH challenge ran an Ewok swarm against Carth(?). Subbed in Teddy Grahams for Ewoks on the board, and ate them when they died. Oh, and the kid won. BigGrin

Jim got 5 rakghouls with Celeste in his game against Echo.

that's pretty much all I can remember, they were talking kinda fast.

They are really cool. However, I will wait till someone who won one to spoil it. If no one does, I will Sunday night.

And these are not Epic, normally tourny legal.

The kid story is great. I'm not sure if he even had any minis. Jim said the kid promised him he could eat them when they died, but then kid ended up eating them all, lol.

Hope they spoil the stats for those characters over the weekend. (edit: nevermind)

Wait - what are they, then? Are they Vset5 previews? Two tourney-legal cards that only one person owns?

I was about to ask the same thing, are they V-set 5 previews? A new sub-set preview? Exclusives?

I'm super excited to see what they are.

First off, congrats to Trevor. Second, Teddy Grahams kid sounds like he might have produced the greatest moment in Gencon history.

Also, whenever anyone on the ground in Indy has any info about Top 8 and so forth, I'd love to hear about it.

I did hear from Spry that he went 0-3 and dropped. So there went the 2011 runner up...

It's because he didn't have me as a carpool partner this year--my coaching on the drive through Illinois last year made all the difference Wink

Sort of? They will be part of the V5 print run, but should be online before then. The mini set will only be 10 figs, so it is essentially 3 seperate sets.

I like them both a lot. Luke is going to be a blast, and Twin DSM is always awesome. Cunning on Luke is great, plus a ranged force power for him! and his CE is awesome. Heeeeelo Felucia swarm! I really like him as an alternative to GMLS (is this what was referred to as a new use for GMLS? The sculpt for MotO?

And Sidious is Going to be a pain to bring down. And the Rapport and Synergy are going to bring up a lot of Vaders' game. Granted the pair will be an expensive combo. Two more great CEs. Only a little bummed his name isnt Emp Palpatine for Hand of the Emperor.

Overall they both seem awesome though!

First blush - super disappointed with the new Luke.

It makes GMLS pretty much 100% redundant. I'm more an advocate of bringing WotC pieces back to life - not just replacing them like this. The only thing the new one doesn't have that GMLS does have is Triple Attack and a couple of points on stats. Add in the new tricks (Cunning and LS Throw), and it makes GMLS only useful in a squad where you are intentionally trying to lose - GMLS doesn't even make sense in a gimmick squad anymore because the new one is pretty much the same thing but better. Plus GMLS can now never be boosted except by exact name because he'll always be overshadowed by this new version.

Plus, the new one still doesn't look like he's competitive. I could be wrong about that, though.

Sorry to be so negative. I guess I was looking forward to a new NR Luke - a new flavor and a competitive cost. This one doesn't seem to fill the bill on either account.

My thoughts exactly!
This Luke is pretty much the same like the GMLS plus Cunning and LS , and even better CE. And it costs 15 points less!
Which just means that old GMLS is redundant.

I really like the new Palps thou!!
One question: Sidious counts as Emperor Palpatine so can't we really use Hand of the Emperor?? I know that in glossary HoE stands that "character whose name contains Emperor Palpatine" but if we were to change/bend some rules wouldn't it be better to "character who counts as Emperor Palpatine" ?
