I always see people saying that the original Lobot is better. I, however, disagree. Lobot, CLO is cheaper, and (I'm a guy that takes risks, so others may say, "Well you can also get 0 reserves") you can get more than 1 reserves. Not only that, but you get more points from Lobot, CLO's reserves.
Thats just what I think. Let me know your opinion.

One issue is that if you're playing for points, killing reinforcements is worth zero. Killing reserves is worth their cost. But the bigger issue is not having that important counter at the beginning of the skirmish. If you get them later, that's okay but the skirmish may have been lost by then... or you might not get them at all.

To me, it depends on your squad and the opponent's squad. If it has weaknesses, it can be countered with your reinforcements from lobot. With LCLO, you also get recon, getting you 2 chances at reserves. Combining that with Wat tambor or other Sep reserve characters is a good idea. I won't choose either, because they are even to me, but Lobot is more useful in most situations.

The previous posters have already summed it up well, but for me CLobot's only really good in a squad where your whole strategy is based on getting reserves, and you have special abilities like Recon, Anticipation, and other pieces with Reserves in your squad.

It's too bad LCLO doesn't have more love... I think that there will be some more V-set characters with reserves and immediate reinforcements, which might help him out. I have to say that you can't rely on reserves, though. I've made that mistake too many times before, and it's just got me frustrated. I've gone up to about 16 rounds when I just had San Hill and Lobot left, desperately trying to get one of the two lucky numbers. I didn't, and my opponent took me out easily.

( But you could get lucky and score the magic numbers, like I did once with San Hill, Lobot, Wat Tambor, and Nute Gunray. (150 free points is something you've gotta like!!)

i have to go with Lobot over CLo. THough reserves is one of my favorite abillities, and i have several Squads built around them, they are not as competitive as Reinforcements

I actually hate "Lobot", as i get so sick of seeing him. I'll be more than pleased the day the vsets make another option. At this point, the bribery pieces I don't think are quite good enough to make Lobot not worth playing... or I imagine a lot of people are playing both him and bribery.
LCLO is a great piece, but in competitive play, he's lacking. The original Lobot is better for competitive builds as it lets you react to your opponent's squad, and as others have stated, reserves often works against you. I have heard reserves are much better in higher point games. I'm not sure why that is, but i've heard it restated enough times that i'm sure theres some truth to it.

Hands down its Lobot but CLO sees much more play in the Epic 500 format.

For a V-Set Lobot, what would you guys look for? I think both of the WotC versions are pretty ultimate, sort of difficult to see a new one made.

That would be cool. Maybe to satisfy people that like reserves on LCLO, and people that like the reinforcements on Lobot, it could have both. It would probably make it a little expensive, but it would be cool.

I'd want a new flavor for Lobot - not a reinforcements/reserve Lobot.
One suggestion: an uber-movement breaker solely for Bespin guards. Something like...
Security Coordination: Allied Bespin Guards may move off the battle grid. Bespin Guards that exit the battle grid are placed on their cards. At the beginning of each round, after initiative is determined, any Bespin Guard on its card is placed on an edge square on your half of the battle grid.

For the casual, fun game - maybe CLObot, but otherwise hands down old skool UH Lobot.
So many reasons why, ask any of the top gamers and they will tell you UH Lobot instantly.
What is THE ONLY figure that has been in every one of the world championship winning squad since 2009? UH Lobot.
What figure has been in the most Regional winning squads in the history of the game since 2010? UH Lobot. (31 vs CLObot 2, and those two CLObot squads were back in 2010 at small regionals without top level players)
There is a valid argument that UH Lobot is the best figure in the game, period. It's laughable to even compare him to CLObot outside of casual fun games.

I would love to see the cloud city forces formed into a subfaction. Lobot and lando could certainly help to do this. I also am reminded of lando's little Rolex watch that he pushes to alert lobot... might only be in the special editions. but it would be neat to have something like this on Lando: Remote Caller: If a character named lobot is in your squad, you may activate that character immediately after this characters turn, ignoring the activation rules.

New Lobot: definitely Master of the Force 3 and Pilot.
