Before Voting: Vote as if you are a senator at the time. Remember:
Valorum has been doing well so far, only failing to control the bureaucrats.
Palpatine is from the planet that called for the no confidence vote, and they say they are being blockaded by the trade federation.
Organa is a well renowned politician, with many supporters, but some are swayed by the situation of the Naboo.
The Senator from Malastare supports the trade federation, who claims that the Naboo are lying about the blockade for more power.
Please no biased answers!

Honestly... while palpatine is basically hitler, and the empire sucks, i would have voted with amidala for the motion of no confidence in velorum. The republic was so screwed up at the time... her planet was under attack and basically the republic kept saying "yeah... we'll look into it".
I think lucas kinda wrote poorly, in that no one in naboo was really that uncomfortable... i mean, what, there were a couple of battle droids walking around the streets, and the planet couldn't get imported goods... thats a bummer, but Naboo is a pretty lush planet... i'm pretty sure the people who lived there could have lasted a few tens of thousands of years before needing to get resources from another planet. Boohoo. If naboo had become a warzone, the whole thing would have been a little bit more believable, and made the situation much more dire. But as it is, they separatists were just kind of hanging out in theed rather than leveling buildings or anything.
That being said, i think the republic did need a reform, and i think the vote for no confidence was a step in that direction. Its just a shame that it was orchestrated by someone like palatine rather than someone like bail with a bit more extreme viewpoints.

I agree with the no confidence, but picking someone from either Naboo or from the Trade Federation doesn't seem like a good idea. So I went with Organa.

If I was a senator I think I would have voted for Palpatine because if you look at this it's kind of like how Hitler came into power...except this is a galaxy and this is Star Wars and it doesn't make as much sense, but shoving those things aside Palparine offered a lot and was playing with your mind so my vote is with him.
