Choose in terms of support provided... but still that you feel that piece is dominate in both areas, offense and defensively.

I don't know, let the poll decide... it ends before Jedi Academy is officially released.

Grandmaster Luke is incredible!, he could take down bane in 1 turn
triple-twin,120 dam., then Djem-so both of banes attacks w/ plus 10 dam. 100, bane is dead!

Any answer other than General Obi is wrong.

One on one, sure. But Obi is 60 pts less, and he can bring in supped up support. Luke only has a chance in 200, whereas Obi will be dominant in all formats.

Yeah I don't see how luke is going to survive shooters. Let me explain........
Somebody (Shooter) targets luke, say the attack hits.... Luke says Lightsaber "D", (roll) 9. Luke says FP to reroll (roll) 10. Then he takes the damage because he can roll no more.
It's just like, Luke Hero of Yavin fails his evade save. FP reroll, Fail, takes the damage.
He is a attacking whirlwind, but his Lightsaber "D" twice thing (with no mettle) is just not the bomb.
just my 2 cents.

for the most of 2009, grand luke will tear up, because nobody will know what to do with him. after 2009? it will become like bane. easy to deal with, but massive potential.

GM Luke is the best because he is coming out in 2009, Gowk came out in 2008

If you talking about building a squad around 115 points then I would have to disagree. with only 85 point of support in 200 or 35 point in 150..... Luke will be very lonely and this is a squad based skirmish game.

As far as raw power, there is no contest. GMLS isn't a tank, he's a freaking dreadnought.
If you factor in the cost, I think that Fett is the best.

I chose Grandmaster Luke Skywalker because, although highly costed, he's so powerful, it's hard to beat him both with shooters, and with any melee fighter. General Obi-Wan Kenobi would probably be the best one to put up against him.

As for me... I picked Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter... mainly because of a low percentage to actually crit is auto death to whatever figure is the most exciting part of the game. What's best of all, is that high attack percentage against Uniques, makes it easier to shoot and run while flight avoids unnecessary conflicts of twin attacks while being based. Boba can be a versatile character at best, with no debris that can stop his path (except for walls and closed doors obviously). It makes Boba BH worth keeping a crit count on how many uniques you've disintegrated on a signature. Boba Fett is a fun piece to use, it's a lot more fun than using GOWK I can tell you that much.

Boba BH isnt the only 1 w/ disintegration. Gotal Fringer has it too and its only 9 pt. cost. I have 2!!!!!!

The thing I have mentioned is that Boba, BH can escape while being based by an enemy character. And because of it's survivability, flexibility to hold it's own, and his attack output, you don't really need a Gotal.
