The past few map making experiences have been so positive for me that I've decided to open up the offer to who ever is interested.

If anyone is interested in having a custom map for Star Wars, Heroclix, or D&D, please contact me for an estimate.

I am going to take on 1 new project every 3 weeks throughout the summer, starting in June.

contact me here or at Matt.Francella@gmail.com!

Thanks!

The price really depends on how much work its going to be. If its something I can put together with pre-existing stuff, then not much, but it depends on how much time it will talke to make what you want.

JUST TO CLARIFY

This isn't a maps suggestions thread. Please don't message me with maps you'd like to see. Thank You

I don't want to be "that guy" but I have an ethical responsibility to post a "buyer beware" here. Don't commission maps from Jedicartographer. I was first on his list, and the "official" agreement we made (and he devised in entirety) was that he would finish part of the map by June 1st in exchange for a part of the total payment. To this day, he has not informed me of any progress beyond some initial work on the map. I e-mailed him once in early July, to which I got a response that he had been really busy in June and would get caught up soon on my order. (He also mentioned that he was working on several maps that the community would love). In mid August, after he started posting about the new map packs that were coming out, I e-mailed him offering to postpone or cancel the agreement we had made if he needed to work on the map packs. He responded that, no, he was going to be able to work on the map I had ordered soon. Earlier tonight, I e-mailed him once more, explaining that, as, like all of us, my gaming budget is limited and I needed to know if he thought the map would get done any time soon (meaning, would he get it to the point he had agreed to reach by June 1st, so that I would have to pay him part of the total payment anytime soon) as I was thinking of preordering a box of the upcoming Magic set. In his response, he claimed that the work for this map was worth 4 times the value agreed upon, and that if because of that it was going to happen on his schedule. He also said that he had been busy with "real work". I responded saying that it was no problem and that I simply needed to get a better idea of what his schedule was. He responded, saying that if I wanted the map right now (in the previous e-mail he mentioned that he had agreed to "work on your map as soon as I could and i'd let you know as soon as I possibly could") I could send him 600$ and told me he was no longer interested. Ill add that throughout this entire exchange, I was as accommodating as I could possibly be, repeatedly saying that it was no problem for him to delay and to work on the maps for as long as he needed to.

To sum it up, Jedicartographer blatantly violated the agreement we made, spent months working on new maps instead of the one he had agreed to make in return for money from me, and then decided to change the price he was asking 4 months later. I cannot recommend strongly enough to stay away from any deals with JC.

(To clarify, it was a small map of a ship for $150)

^Wow. He's 'giving away' four slots of him designing custom maps for people in the Kickstarter for the new Map Pack ($300, with a set of the maps I believe)...

I have had the opposite experience with him. JC designed a really good Vong-formed Coruscant for me and went above and beyond what I was after.

Or maybe your just an impatient crybaby who's been told several times that as soon as I can I will make your map. NO MONEY CHANGED HANDS! NO CONTRACT WAS MADE!!

I told you from the get-go I had several things I needed to do before I got to this. It's when YOU started getting pushy that I told you I wasn't going to do this.

And you're seriously close to getting a lawsuit if you don't change your tone. You are one person out of THOUSANDS that hasn't been completely satisfied either working with me, or buying my products.

SO I'm going to ask you civilly, one time, to FALL BACK. You are out of your league, son. Mad

Pay no mind to him. When money changes hands a contract is made. I have made good on all my arrangements.

Again let me drive this point home, because now you have me wound up. Here is an email I sent Tim 3 weeks ago after one if his continued prodding emails.

This was literally 3 weeks ago.

"Actually I was about to get hold of you! Josh, my partner has a similar thing he's working on! We might put it in a new map pack soon, if that's the case, then you'll get what your looking for without having to pay us. Either way all the maps are just about done, so it really won't be much longer before I get to work on it. We'ved got an oppourtunity to get these maps we've already made released to the whole community so obviously I need to knock that out real quick."

Here it shows my continued efforts to give this kid something he needed without having to even pay me one cent.

Your claims are invalid, and I'm going to give you 48 hrs to publically take them back or I'm calling my lawyer, and she can ask you to take the statements back.

the only thing I am guilty of is agreeing to June 1st to start. But like I said I told you I didn't want to take your money until I could actually start, for fear that something was going to come up, and several things did come up, none of which are your business

I don't see how u can "call your lawyer" on him for this. He's already given up getting his map all he posted up was feedback that this thread asked for from his perspective. If you know hes wrong or right then just comment your point of view. why the law has to get into this is beyond me. You guys had an arrangement it didn't go well. So what just move on and go the next person because if u stay in the past nothing good will come of it and you two will be arguing on here and this is a friendly site there should be no bad blood between you guys. I say work out what happened or just move on but there is no reason the Legal system should be brought into a petty squabble like this one.

Sounds like you both have points. It's hard to properly communicate through e-mails. It does not pick-up on tone of voice or facial expressions. You said publicly that you agreed to June 1st so make it happen or make it right. If not, you do owe him an explanation. Not a deep personal account of your life, but some simple explanation. It's what any decent business or friend would do. It sounds like you make the best maps around. They look fantastic. Corranhorn did not sound vicious in his e-mail. Just talk over the phone, work it out and remove all of the post or the entire thread. Then we'll get back to doing what we all do best. You making the best maps, us buying them and all of us plaing SWM :)
