Name 5!

My 2c:

Talon Karrde, Information Broker - introduces a lot of new squad options. The damage boost, the Ysalamari, the movement, and the Disruptive seem like enough to make all-fringe squads viable.

Admiral Daala - another piece that introduces new squad building options. Not sure how powerful she'll end up, but it's definitely introducing some new options.

Zygerrian Slaver - movement for little scrubs is a cool idea.

Czerka Shield Technician - twin shooters are all over the place, this has got to be a very powerful Lobot reinforcement option, and even mainlined in some squads - like I think it's good here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/132648/v6-four-great-jedi

Durge on Speeder - the ability to choose between a strafer or a shooter is very useful.

Talon Karrde - One of the Best V-Set Pieces ever hands down for the above reasons.
Chiss Captain - Works perfectly In a Talon squad handing out Backlash and deceptive.
Captain Fordo - One of favourite characters made into a fantastic mini, Hand Signals is genius and that synergy and CE when mixed with a few other guys is down right scary.
Quinlan Vos - Excellent infiltator piece and the affinity is really nice.
Alto Stratus - I've been waiting for this guy since i started this game now that there is a piece it just feels so good and he is excellent
From VEHICLES OF WAR
Blizzard Force At-St - Finally something to help make At-Sts viable plus it's a good piece
Durge On Speeder - Excellent Strafer recently used him to kill 9 clone troopers in one strafe no damage taken it was awesome.
The next 3 are all welcome Remakes of Past pieces which need to be remade and they did a fantastic job.
Darth Maul on Swoop Bike
Obi Wan on Boga
Grievous on Tsemu 6 Wheel Bike

Grievous Wheelbike! This piece is amazing, especially when combined with Sev'Rance Tann. I played three hail fires and those two the other day and actually won??? Good job!

Admiral Daala. Lots of fun to play new snow trooper swarms and she is adding new angles to the Imperials other than Thrawn.

Vos, a really cool fresh take on this character that is fitting and lethal.

Talon Karrde, this is what the fringe needed to give them the push into becoming their own faction. Please keep pursuing this route

Republic Flame Clone trooper, just epic insta-damage

This is what I sent in to SW Miniverse as my top 5.

5. Darth Maul on Swoop Bike
4. Mandalore the Resurrector
3. ARC Trooper Captain Fordo
2. Mirta Gev
1. Luke Skywalker, Hero of Endor

Having played around with the set now this list is actually probably a little different

I love the new Aalya Secura, Talon Karrde, Kyp Durron, and Darth Sidious.

When the set first came out I was super excited for Lucien Draay, Jedi Master, Quinlan Vos, Double Agent, Darth Sidious, Supreme Chancellor, Luke Skywalker, Hero of Endor, Talon Karrde, Information Broker, Warrior Caste Subcommander, Praetorite Vong Scout, Cin Drallig, Jedi Battlemaster and General Obi-Wan Kenobi on Boga
After some Squad building attempts and some testing my top 5 are:
1. Cin Drallig, Jedi Battlemaster (this guy is amazing! Both on his own and for the support he gives.)
2. Luke Skywalker, Hero of Endor (The Rebels really needed a good beat and they got an amazing one! Great as a Pilot via Biggs Darklighter, Rebel Pilot. I can see him winning tournaments)
3. Warrior Caste Subcommander (this guy and the Praetorite Vong Scout are turning the Vong around! Though not quite in the dierection I would've liked, they are great nonethless)
4. Admiral Daala (kinda glanced over when I first saw her, after giving her a second look she creates a whole new squad type.)
5. Talon Karrde, Information Broker (I actually haven't used him yet, as I'm still looking at all the amazing options he can support. Hands down this piece is the biggest game changer I have seen, basically like he brought a whole new faction all by himself.)

I was ultimately disappointed with Lucien Draay, Jedi Master and Darth Sidious, Supreme Chancellor. They are great pieces to be sure, but I'm having trouble making good squads with them. (Melee heavy squads with few characters are what they end up looking like. Maybe I need to stop trying so hard to get the most out of their CE's)

Best faction in this V-set release is without a doubt, the Republic.

You do realize that Sev'Rance Tann doesn't actually give Grievous on Tsmeu-6 Wheel Bike any synergy? He isn't listed as huge so no rapport and he doesn't count as non-living so no Shielding Upgrades... Sorry to tell yaSad

If you read closer, he used 3 Hailfire Droids, which synergize well with both Sev'rance and Grievous.

I do realize that those Hailfire Droids would benefit nicely from Tann. (not so much from Grievous IMO) I just wanted to be sure he wasn't giving Greivous a benefit he can't get, as I have seen several people make that mistake. BTW it would be nice if Cyborg would count as non-living for that SA and Ion GunWink

for Talon i have a pretty good team made up I use Talon, Loby, Tyber Zann, Urai, Silri, and a couple defilers and soldiers and the Zann consortium just got alot deadlier.

Movement for boosted troopers is awesome.

Even if it's hard to pull off, moving an 8 point piece 46 squares in round one and blasting someone for +16/110dmg is just fun.

Zygerrian Slaver - good movement breaker for all factions
Kyp Durron - direct counter for Caedus ;)
Quinlan Vos - so much good stuff
Chiss Captain - great boost for fringe
Jar Jar - I've always wanted to use my Kaadu, and I've always wanted to squish Poggle bombs....

Cin Drallig (yes, I'm a little bit biased)
Quinlan Vos (so cool, so fun, so flexible)
Maul on Speeder (such a fun piece to play, and it really increases the usefulness of the other Maul)
Czerka Shield Tech (IMHO the most useful Lobot Reinforcement piece since Dr. Evazan GC)
Mandalore the Resurrector (he created a whole new squad type for the Mandos)

So far 26 pieces have had shoutouts. The big 5 are Talon Karrde, Admiral Daala, Sidious Chancellor, Durge on Speeder, and Quinlan Vos.

What do these squads look like? I've been browsing a few in the squad builder, and there are some interesting things, but I'm wondering what you think are the best ones?

As a member of the design team I like to think everything we did on this set is awesome. Here are my favorite 5 right now.

Admiral Dalaa - Playable stormtrooper teams and non-Thrawn imperials.

Darth Sideous - sepretist force renewal ce, sep beatstick that doesn't need whorm to work

Chewbacca - he's new republic and gives Han pilot. Just what has been being asked for

Talon Karrde - new faction! I'm really looking forward to where this piece leads

Durge on Speeder - I said a few years ago if I won gencon this would be my selection of piece. Luckily the other designers liked the idea and we made a vehicle subset. Durge is $.

Mandalore the Resurrector
Boba Fett Mercenary Commander
Kelborn
...that's a very mobile and accurate squad base. Boba is doing 40dmg shots (twice) vs un-activated targets (which is effective when he can pick his targets via Accurate Shot). Add Twin (Captain) to make Kelborn a 120dmg ranged Accurate beast, or Mirta to boost Boba and do some solid mobile damage herself.

Also consider how Stealth is a significant part of certain key pieces (Jan/Kyle, ERCs, Cad, Nimbus Commandos, etc), and the value of Accurate Shot becomes more apparent. Accurate used to be one of the key shooting SAs, but the advent of Dash/Rex/Cad (with their higher mobile damage output) tended to push the Accurate pieces we had ( out of the top tier. If these Accurate shooters can now put out some serious hurt, I think it could affect the meta.

Boba MC has always been solid, but with MtR he gains more damage, and their combined CEs really have the potential to bring some pain. Combine that with free movement from Kelborn and now Boba can move up to 12 squares to put 80dmg on something to start the round. And that's just Boba...Kelborn can become just ugly when he gets the right scenario (160dmg vs adjacent enemies). And MtR has decent survivability (Beskargam and good HP), with some solid damage output.

Is it Tier 1? Who knows, but it does seem to have some potential.
