The new initiative rule is great as it makes players rely more on strategy than luck.

Oh, that rule. I didn't know people were referring to it as the new inititave rule. I'm indifferent about it. My only good squad has San Hill in it, so it doesn't effect me much. For everything else, I don't know how much of a difference it'll make. It probably makes you think more about how you're going to start the game off.

I love it, it helps people not to always say you go first, so it helps you not run out of activations in the beginning.

Wow that changes things but it could be good.

That means you can't base at the end of the round (with a beatstick) use Master Tec, attack, then swap out. Cause that would be two activations! I like it

You could though, if you had RS Tarkin with his CE in effect.

The new init rule was designed as well as the new map roll procedures as a way to make the game fairer for all players. if you don't like it you can always circumvent it using Rebel Storm Tarkin. It limits your factio choice a bit but it does let you get around it.

It makes the game a lot fairer all the way around. Especially late game when one person wins init and they can't attack first with two characters to win. I use to hate when a game came down to whoever wins init will win the game.

its only for DCI so if you dont play DCI its just what the rule book says unless your friends want to play DCI rules.

I'm a fan, for all the reasons already mentioned. I have played many, many games that came down to one crucial init roll, where the whole tide of the game changed.

The superheavy bull-rushers can wait for a round or two to give the smaller fry a chance to set up something resembling a defense.

It is great. You don't have to worry about losing the game after round 1 becasue you did something stupid.

DurgeDude would say this, " I don't really care 'bout the new initiative rule, cause my 10 Gotal Mercenarys got intuition.

I don't think it changes the game too strongly either way, I currently am not using it at the LGS, but then again , we are not currently playing DCI or Gambit rules. WE play by the rulebook, when the new rulebook comes out in a future starter and if the new initiative rule is in it, we will make the change over completely otherwise I would only use it playing DCI games.
